You do realize that Cole went platinum with ZERO radio shout out's right ? The only person I remember having the balls to do that is Beyonce (lemonade)....I give him mad props for that.

I'm not saying kendrick ain't good.....the dude is a beast on the beat..but the n***** is over hyped.

At the end of the day, it depends on who u prefer. Cole is the better story teller (lost ones, wet dreamz) and kendrick is the better lyricist (hii power, king kunta). Cole is the mind. Kendrick is the soul.

Both guys are better rappers but you can't compare rappers from cali with any other rappers simply because California is the home of hood rap and gangsterism.I always call Cali the "Jerusalem or Mecca" of rap.Rap is the tradition and religion of the californians,they are addicted to hood rap that's why they've produced the highest number of rap legends.The californians are mostly hardcore rappers and rap lovers.Even though I hate this new school rap,I still prefer and listen to Kendrick because he's very lyrical, consistent and 70 percent hardcore.

Wow!so we are on the same lane,keep it up sis.Tracks like "The Genesis","One love","it aint hard to tell","life's a bitch" and "Ny state of mind" are evergreen.Nas was a teenager when he released "illmatic" in 1994 but he was flawless,accurate and consistent.This current generation of rappers are just too whack and lazy,most of them are nothing but noise makers.

Hmmmmmm!I love your post,it's very informative but I don't want to mention my overrated rapper of all time because of some rap fans here on nairaland(no offence).I'm not among those people who are overhyping Kdot and I will never do that.I just believe he's a better rapper(that's all).For me "the game" is the current king of california,recently he's becoming a little bit commercial because of the cash but he's still on top of his game.My favourite rapper of all time is Nas(Godson),I love everything about Nas(pls no homo),Illmatic is my favourite rap album.But I still respect and listen to rappers like 2pac,Big,Krs one,Dr dre(I'm addicted to his chronic album),Rakim,Dmx,Wu tang clan,Jay Z,Game,D12,Cannibus,Jadakiss,ghostface killer,Raekwon,Jedi mind trick etc.I respect you so much because of your contributions on this lovely thread(you are a lady but you are a big fan of hardcore rap).Big up to you#have a wonderful weekend.
