What is the modality of collection or dispatch of TRFs from the british council office that conducted your examination? You have a 6 week window in between the date you wrote your test and when you are allowed to request for a remark.
To request for a remark, you need your TRF form. With this ielts result, I am almost certain you would get your writing upgraded because writing is always subjective.....it depends on the examiner who is marking and really if you got a band 8/9 in all other sections, you most likely would be able to get a band 7 in writing if other examiners remark.

This is a bit dicey though. I would advise that you get on the phone and speak with your local british council office in saudi first and after which, you can call or visit british council , Ikoyi - this office is not the most helpful or reliable in terms of customer care from my experience.
If your TRF can be picked up by someone in Saudi, you can issue a letter of authority for said person to do so and also request for a remark on the same day. Its a very simple process and that is what I would recommend as I really do not think that the Ikoyi office would be able to help so much but you never know

Hello house. I have been a silent follower of this thread. I wrote my first IELTS General exams around Oct and got : L 7.5, R 6.5 W 6.5 & S 7.5. (I didnt practise so much)

This result was really depressing but i, my colleague and friends decided to give it another try and we wrote the Dec 3rd's exam. I got L 9, R 8, W 7.5 & S 7.5. (Practised hard for 1month)

When i checked my CRS score, it came out to 481 lol .

I am yet to create a profile for the pool (no ECA yet) cos i never really took this Canada EE seriously.

I just quickly applied to my post graduate Uni (Sunderland) to send my transcript to IQAS.

I urge people taking IELTS to use Youtube videos for their listening practices, then use IELTS Liz for the rest, especially for the reading tips. IELTS 68k is not beans with this recession!!!

We created EE profile December last year and January this year,Ontario asked us to apply (as was done for people that had over 400). They finally responded this month asking for some information after which we were nominated.

Most banks have placed restrictions on the use of Naira debit card for FX transactions.

You need to find out from your bank but I know that GTB still allows up to $100 per month while it has been reported that Access Bank allows up to $200 per month.

In summary, ask your bank.

The process for MPNP is similar to Express Entry as it is modeled around it. However, the first step is to signify your interest by filling the EOI form and if you are Invited, you can then apply to get a provincial nomination from them. it is when you get the provincial nomination that you can go ahead with you express entry application.
Please note that you can be in the express entry pool if you have a good chance of getting ITA as MPNP is only an alternative to get additional 600 points to achieve ITA.

Please i have a question about police certificates. Below is an excerpt from the CIC website:

"Police certificates are typically valid for one year from the date they are issued.

For the applicant’s current country of residence, the police certificate must be issued no more than six months before submission of the e-APR.

For countries in which the applicant no longer lives, the police certificate must have been issued after the last time the client lived in that country."


Looking from the excerpt above it says that police reports are typically valid for 1yr. I lived in the UK from 2005-2011 and I got a police report from the UK august this year although I plan on applying for express entry next year june.

Now if by the time i am called to apply for ITA and 1yr has passed, does this mean that i can no longer use this certificate from the UK? Because on the site it also says that for countries that u resided at in the past, the police certificate must be issued after you last lived in that country or territory. So this confuses me because i really don't know why I would need to go and get another certificate after the current one expires given that i no longer live in the UK.

You have given a good explanation but I don't think it is comprehensive enough. Firstly, if u study the MPNP EOI system well u will discover that there are eligibility requirements for each of their nominee classes of which having a connection to Manitoba province is a must for all of them. Secondly, you must have not yet applied to any other province nomination program and be fully interested in migrating to Manitoba which is where I have a bit of a problem. It appears that they mean one must not send an EOI to any other province except their own.
Gurus in d house pls look at this as I stand to be corrected.

Your UK PCC wil remain valid so far you do not visit UK till you submit your application. Any visits to the UK six months after you have got the PCC will invalidate the PCC.

However, why don't you just apply again for the PCC whenever you are ready to submit your application as UK PCC is very easy to get. This will give you extra piece of mind and one less thing to worry about during the processing of your application. Even if it will be accepted, I can bet you, you will worry about it until you get your PPR.
