Madam Kemi, People are dying with sufferings multiplying by the day plus no salaries.. hear my DG's word... " Gather Staff and enlighten them as well as broadcast this SMS. The truth is that since 2014, FGN has taken Salary payment away from this Institute. Every Civil Servant in the country is paid centrally in a system called IPPIS and we have nothing to do with the non-payment of salaries currently being experienced. Everything they told us to do, we complied and yet there has been no payment even of month of November. Payment of Salaries is administered by Office of the Accountant General of the Federation directly to individual accounts of employees and Personnel Emolument of any Staff comes to the Institute. DG/CEO" alleviate our sufferings, don't multiply them please. cc: president, minister of finance 4 Likes |

this has always been the case, the only challenge is sharing of databases between the relevant organisations. they should also reduce the duty and harmonise the duty payable on vehicle for both land and sea borders. 5 Likes |

Good policy if properly implemented. These are some of the systems which should have started working long before now, it'll ensure security, minimize corruption and create higher revenue for the government. And if implemented the way it should, smuggling will be discouraged as cost of importing through the ports will be reduced. I keep wondering why we've always had nutheads at the helm of affairs in this country. I just hope and fervently hope corruption won't stop this this policy from working as it should. 17 Likes 1 Share |

This is making a whole lot of sense, realistically this government is trying, yes there is hunger in the land, but i bet it if many people abusing this government are opportune to be in power they will do more worse than the government in power. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Good idea I hope they won't ask already registered vehicle to come and pay for new registration, this will go a long way in reducing car theft and smuggling For your website and blog design , contact www.leksmediaconcept.com or call 08173091370

Hahahahaha. That's why it's good for hustlers to be in power. They know what's up. This thing will never succeed. Corrupt custom and vehicle registration officers will accept settlement to link the VIN of smuggled cars to the database. This will only lead to the creation and enrichment of a cabal who by now will be salivating and can't wait for the scheme to begin. 5 Likes |

Good idea. I particularly like the part that talks about original vehicle manufacturers being aware of vehicles coming to Nigeria especially for the purpose of recalls. About time too. The big question is, "will it work in a corruption ridden Nigerian system?" |

This particular process has been on all this while! You actually use your VIN to clear & register your vehicle today. It is what the authorities still call CHASSIS number. A VIN is the 'Vehicle Identification Number' attached to any motor vehicle manufactured on or AFTER 1st January 1989. A VIN is always 17 characters long. VIN numbers can be found on plates riveted to the CHASSIS or frame, stamped into the CHASSIS or firewall and / or etched on the bottom corner of the front windscreen, and also on the vehicle's compliance plate. SO THIS STRATEGY IS NOTHING NEW!!!! Abi wetin dem write under chassis number on your current vehicle custom papers, registration/license papers & Proof of Ownership, including Roadworthiness, etc? Go & check & confirm!!! IT IS THE VIN!!! Madam could have simply said that people can no longer falsify the age of their cars to reduce the custom duty!!!! We have all always had access to the info that VIN will provide, including the customs & vehicle registration people!!! Na chop & I chop dey make falsification dey work!!! Can she stop that one? I doubt, but she should try 2 Likes |
