The University of Lagos, Unilag, has declared Dr. Henry Boyo of the Department of Physics persona non grata in the University campus.

Dr. Boyo, who teaches electrical physics in the University had been retired compulsorily on March 17, 2016 over ”violence and aggressive behavior”.

He was then banned from entering the University campus owing to his antecedent, according to the University Management.

A statement by the University, obtained by Breezereporters.com reads; “This is to notify the University community that Council at its meeting held on Thursday, March 17, 2016 compulsorily retired Dr. Henry Boyo, of the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, in public interest. adding that “the decision of Council was communicated to Dr. Boyo via letter dated Tuesday, April 12, 2016 and he was directed to handover all University properties in his possession.

“In spite of the above, recent reports revealed that Dr. Boyo still frequents the Faculty of Science for unknown personal reasons. Dr. Boyo’s antecedents with staff and students indicate a tendency for violence and aggressive behavior, Unilag said.

“Consequently, in order to forestall breach of the peace on Campus, Dr. Boyo has been declared persona non grata in the University of Lagos. The Security Unit has been mandated to prevent him from gaining access into the University. In the event that he is sighted on Campus, the Security Unit should be contacted immediately.

Breezreporters.com investigation about the lecturer confirmed that Dr. Boyo was violent and aggressive to both students and colleagues.

Our correspondent gathered the lecturer had in 2013 smashed the laptop of one of his students for not following his instruction in the lecture room, a situation which generated outrage among students and lecturers.

Speaking with Breezereporters.com, an alumnus of the Department of Physics and former student of the lecturer, who preferred anonymity said; “Dr. Boyo is a confirm physcho, i’m not surprise he was retired.

The alumnus, however, said the lecturer is a genius who is very good in electrical physics.

Dr. Boyo is known for his controversial zero energy building beside the annex of Faculty of Sciences.

This is an outrage, I know this man for his great work in the university community. I can't believe a whole Unilag management can stope this low to dehumanizing a passionate lecture that have used his resources in training students. I know this because my nephew now works for an engineering company because of this man's training.

This is uncalled for. It is a deliberate act to defame an internationally acclaimed researcher. This man is an heavy weight in engineering, electronics, robotics and renewable energy here in Nigeria. University of Lagos is using this medium to cover up their irresponsibility and gross flaw in pushing Dr Boyo out of their corroding system. We'll see how this ends.

Some will hate you and some will love you. Loving you or hating you are both in your favor. When people love you, you live peacefully and happily in their heart; and when people hate you, you become the landlord in their head living painfully in their brain everyday and giving them sleepless nights.

What I'll say here is that you guys should just endeavour to open and read intently the book Dr Boyo himself posted its link here. And then more of the controversies and ills in the falsehood the Unilag authority has been trying hard to spread about this brilliant and very hardworking Nigerian scientist will be cleared.
As far as I'm concerned the Department of Physics, the Faculty of Science and the University of Lagos management are just being stu*pidly envious and antagonistic of this genius Nigerian scientist.

The university management continues to spread this false news about this man even months after the man left the campus for them. But for what purpose? To what end?
This man has won many accolades, awards, prizes and contracts for the university and yet they failed to acknowledge and reward him for it.
If we continue to treat our scientists and intellectuals in this part of the world this way, then how do we move forward scientifically and economically.
Dr Boyo was in Physics Department, Faculty of Science, but quite a number of students Ce from the Faculty of Engineering to do their SIWES(IT) in his world-class laboratory.
It will be very difficult for Nigeria to advance scientifically and technologically if we continue to so treat our scientists and technologists.

I felt sorry for you guys. Dr Boyo never beat or harasses any students. You only spread rumour to tarnish his name. He is a blessing to faculty of science and to unilag at large. He is a HERO with a heart of gold. If you study physics as a course and cannot produce PCB board, ARES& ISIS, fire alarm system, smoke detector, audio amplifier and others. Don't be an idiot because of the interest of him whom you choose to defend. Go to his department and ask well about him, students would indeed tell you he neeeds a psychological evaluation.
