As a scape goat he was bundled by the north as a criminal we know he isnt. Goodluck Jonathan, a prominent ijaw leader from Niger Delta chased Ibori out of Nigeria and delivered him to the British in collaboration with the UAE authorities. This is still very recent history, stop peddling lies about Ibori's ordeal. 9 Likes |

As a scape goat he was bundled by the north as a criminal we know he isnt. The op is a very cunny writer that choses to tribalise matters to suit is argument. The questions u should ask urself is 1) was ibori guilty of the charges label against him 2) was he prosecuted in a Nigeria court 5 Likes |

See 9jasite , I have always known you to be a mischievous writer.. Weren't you the person that wrote that trash of how south west technocrats are the reason why nigeria is in recession 8 Likes |

Writer is seeking relevance. Hopefully he can demonstrate his writing acuity to Ibori who may then have mercy on him and his household and perhaps find 50K for him to buy LAKE rice and Fayose fowl for Christmas and New Year celebrations. 5 Likes 1 Share |

9jasite: You should be ashamed of yourself for always peddling falsehood. .you are a divisive and mischievous writer. You came here alluding that ibori's ordeal was caused by the north not knowing it was Jonathan's government (a fellow Niger delta) that re opened ibori case file and tried to arrest ibori before he eventually fled the country to Dubai where he was extradited by the UK government. Now you are saying ibori was innocent, if indeed ibori was innocent why did he plead guilty to the charges against him? 4 Likes |

Was it Obasanjo that awarded Folorunsho Alakija her oil field or Babangida? How is Otedola of Zenon oil fame beholden to the NigerDelta for marketing of petroleum products that were imported? Rather, Otedola should be grateful to his customers who cut across Nigeria for their patronage, and not the NigerDelta. Otedola has focused his oil interest on downstream petroleum products marketing having carved a niche for himself with imported diesel, as Ifeanyi Uba carved his with imported kerosine, that is sold to the Nigerian end user via retail outlets. Those in this category of the oil industry have no business with NigerDelta save for oil sales to the customers there. On the other hand, NigerDelta should be grateful to any petroleum products marketer who is selling NigerDelta refined products because without earning money from us the end user at the downstream, no money is available at the upstream for crude oil exploration that pays 13% derivation royalties. 2 Likes |

You obviously have a lot of growing up to do. Are you not forgetting something? Does the entire world not owe its existence to the Niger Delta? I thought life itself was first breathed into man in Oloibiri? Your defence is as weak as your understanding of and use of grammar. You should take some time to hone your writing skills. This cheap defence you're putting up won't help you much. 1 Like |

Niger Deltans re wiser now, who set the standards to be used in judging hausas and yorubas on one hand, and Niger Deltans and Ibos on the other hand ? .It was in this same country someone once defended Abacha that he didn't steal a dime from the treasury and likewise the yorubas who worship their Jagaban and deify him but cast aspersions on others from other regions. So the Niger Deltans will begin to also take a clue from the yorubas and Hausas henceforth by worshipping their sons and daughters likewise as political juggernauts. U can only ignore Ibori at ur own peril, Hon. Ochei now knows better not to make disparaging statements about a "godfather",a crime that put paid to his ambition of becoming governor of Delta state. It was also from jail that Ibori decided who was to become the governor of his state despite the sitting governor then having his protege that he wanted to install but Ibori's political associates would ve none of that and they set in motion the means to thwart the governor's ambition. And they succeed bt bearing in mind that they had the blessing of Ibori and who I believe instructed them on what to do. Also it was from jail that he was instrumental to the emergence of Saraki and Dogara's emergence as Senate president and speaker respectively as his political structures re still intact and he decides who gets what and how.. Obasanjo alone spent a colossus amount of money to give us darkness by today he is still walking free, Danjuma et al re feeding large on wealths from the Niger Delta and also deified as statesmen then how much more a son of the soil.Ibori had his shortcomings as all humans so and he has also tasted his comeuppance which ought to be a lesson to him and which will also make him to be, sober and serve his people more dedicatedly...... Corruption in any form is bad, so the fight against it ought to be total and holistic while also applying the rule of, "wat is good for the goose is also good for the gander "It is only then we will all know that we as a country re ready to take corruption head-on, and anything short of this by scapegoating some people possibly because of their tribes while at the same time crowning others who re also guilty of the same crime heroes just because they re from a particular part of the country who can do no wrong..... |
