Good Day People, been going through the thread and so far, God has been using you guys to give other people testimony. I would like some information as I intend to visit a friend in USA in early February, although he and his family won the US visa lottery sometime ago, and so he wants me to come visit, I'm 22years old, I would like you guys to put me through the right process, because so far I have only read *Testimonials of people going for Tourism and Vacation* I don't know if I should apply as a tourist, or if I should just tell the VO I'm going to visit a friend, and also would I need to submit back statement for the trip, I would be sponsoring myself for the trip though, but when I get there I would be scouting with the family, they used to be my church member, would need your candid advise, he wants me to come January but I would be very busy and I also need to prepare well in advance,so I told him February, although his parent would send me the invitation letter. Hope to hear from you guys. #God Bless |

Good day guys, have been reading this blog for months now. I applied for a tourist us visa this week and my interview is scheduled for 2nd week in january. I am a final year student of a private uni and would be travelling with my aunt and her husband, they both have valid visas and this is their second trip.i indicated in the form that i will be travelling with em. My aunt is also sponsoring the trip because my mum has so much on her hands atm and my aunt already promised to take me on vacation. Please i would like to know my chances. Thanks |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by Nobody: 4:24am On Dec 19, 2016 |
holysinner01: VO: Why do you want to go to the US? IF I WERE YOU: I'm going for a vacation with my Aunt. VO: What do you do? IF I WERE YOU: I'm a final year student of "so so so course" at the University of ........... ^ this is where you have to represent. Call your course and Uni with pride. Be very load and clear! VO: Who's paying for this trip? IF I WERE YOU: My Aunt is, She promised she'd take me on vacation if I could have a 4.5GPA in last semester, I did so she's making true of her promise. The above statement is not a lie. It is me coming up with a very strong reason for why my aunty want to take me on this vacation. So sit down and think out the strongest reason you think she's taking you for the vacation. 2 Likes |

This thread has been really helpful. I started following before I got my Passport back in June, I literally studied the thread prior to my Visa interview and against all odds I got it, I'm at the Bush International Airport, enroute Nigeria after concluding my 3 weeks Training here in Houston. Big kudos to the guys making things happen here. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by seyewest(m): 5:21pm On Dec 19, 2016 |
Godiloveu: I'm sorry to say this ooo but I believe and think the reason you decided to travel to Ghana is because of upcoming U.S visa interview and why will your firm allow you take a road trip to Ghana... it does not add up in my own opinion. Going to Ghana,Dubai and countries without visa hassle simply means you want to fill up your passport with stickers and stamps. No one will fall for that I'm sorry. |

LadyGuinivere: I know nothing good comes easy, and i'm not desperate to visit US, i study in Poland, so i have taken my time to read,If i saw anything related I would not ask,I have been reading and searching, this is my first time outside Europe destination, and so far most stories I read has been for TOURISM, CONFERENCE,VACATION.. I am not a lazy reader,,just one question i need clarification on, and that is if bank statement would be required,I still have bout €2K,dont know if that would be enough So you could help if you have an answer, thanks in anticipation |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by seyewest(m): 12:20pm On Dec 20, 2016 |
TemmyDavies: For your information you don't need a bank statement for tourist visa although you may bring it along but I know it won't serve any purpose. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by bigbus: 12:20pm On Dec 20, 2016 |
TemmyDavies: Sir, If you have read the thread diligently, you would have seen that bank statements are not required. Back to your original post. I suggest you try to fill the DS-160 form: there you will see that "visit a friend" is not an option for the purpose of the trip. You will need to choose the most appropriate option that matches the purpose of your trip. On another note. Are you applying from Nigeria or from Poland? If I were you, and I am a full time student in Poland, I will apply in Poland. No point travelling to Nigeria to apply for a US visa, and especially as you may not be able to demonstrate good ties to Nigeria. It's a good idea you go through the threads again. All the best. |

Is it advisable to claim you have relations in the US during interview....or Not! Please gurus! |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by worry359(m): 8:43am On Dec 22, 2016 |
chimah3: It is advisable to TELL THE TRUTH. Then you will not get caught out for fraud. Keep things simple and truthful. "I am visiting relations." or "I have relations but will not be visiting them." or "I have relations and they plan to find me a job and get me treated on Medicare!" 1 Like |

Anthocracy: Hi house, I had my interview today 22nd Dec. at Abuja by 7:30 am. I noticed unusual thing today like 95% of all the applicants that came in the morning were denied, me too was denied. My interview lasted for only two minutes after all the other protocols and it went like this: VO: Good morning Me: Good morning ma'am VO: Your passport Me: I passed it to her VO: You're going to NY, what are going there for? Me: Yes, I'm going on vacation VO: Who are you visiting? Me: My uncle VO: What do you do? Me: Working with so so coy as so manager VO: You're married, how many children? Me: One child At this point she handed me yellow paper asked to reapply. I don't know why I was refused. Please can somebody through more light. I shared my proposed transcript before and now, this is the real one. Please let's compare the two and tell me why the outcome was so. Thanks and all glory to God. 1 Like |

Anthocracy:I'm sorry about the denial and also about your proposed interview questions, because you get it right with your proposed interview questions does not mean you have the ties to sway the V.O in granting you the visa. You have to work on your ties and since you plan to go for vacation why not try another country. |
