NYSC;MY CAMP EXPERIENCE
Wow just like yesterday when we all are keeping vigil waiting for our CUL with high hope of serving our fatherland,alas three weeks has come and gone for those of us in stream 1,but I know the memories,the experience,the fun,the new friendship will linger in our mind for along time,without mincing words orientation camp is the most interesting part of youth service and I believe you all will agree with me,truth being told NYSC is a noble scheme saying otherwise is just being economical with the truth,yes the scheme has being marred with on or two challenges since it inception thats why I will implore the FG to review the founding vision of this scheme and prolly do a restructuring,before I continue I want to thank God for his protection throughout the camping period,I recognise his grace upon my life and I wont take it for granted,I took drugs along too camp but never used any was just giving it out.
So I was posted to Ekiti state in the western region,Ekiti is surrounded by Osun,Ondo,Kogi and Kwara state respectively and has beauting landscape and some tourist attraction popular among them is Ikogosi warm spring,Ekiti state NYSC orientation camp is located at Ise/Orun Emure local government the camps officials are kinda friendly even the soldiers,electricity supply and water are stable I give them 100 for the water,the locals are always around to help with your basic chores like washing et al for a fee,infact you will be hearing Tope is here wash your clothes,Tolani is here charge your phone and anything chargeable
I gave them my clothes to them like two times,to the stream 2 peeps aside your necessary documents the second most important thing ťo take to camp is enough money infact you can stroll in to camp just like that without buying anything all you need is at mami,
About registration try and always do the necessary things when others are doing it dont wait for friend,one thing I realise in camp is queue dont reduce its increase unless you want to be among the very last,at the end of the day na only you waka come o,be guided accordingly
Another thing again is on the issue of the no of photocopies the highest no of photocopies you should take along should be 10,am not sure we use up to that sef and all the passport we use should be around 6 or 7,was in 9platoon this my platoon ehn,infact our platoon ínspector lets me leave that gist for another day,the major activities I took part in was the dance and drama and please ignore all those talks about being posted to your preferred place if you are very active,just enjoy yourself and have fun.
And shoutout to all #Ekitikopa that makes Derok joint their house,well my favourites joint for mami is mama Nonso and Delis canteen those where I eat if am not ok with kitchen's food
So anyone I came across in camp always think am an Igbo guy though I understand a little even when I got to my ppa in Ado-Ekiti,the lady that attends to me was surprised when I told her my name so am thinking of giving myself one Igbo name,so there was this night I was talking to my camp girlfriend I agreed it was kinda late but the time is still ok naso these police guys call us say make we follow them go quarter guard,one of my padi sef dey with him bae for one angle naso four of us follow them,we asking them what was our crime exchanging words there,at a point their oga asked for my name and my state immediately his countenance changed and he was smiling that I should have told him earlier thats how I became friends with them and they are always checking up on me in the hostel,they asked us to leave that evening and come back the next morning,that same evening naso this babe dey call me say make I come out again that am I scared,this one na typical Niger-delta girl despite being a foreign student,
One thing again that I observe in was there was a high numbers of Northerners and most them were not willing to stay,on girls there are pretty girls around who are willing to mingle,is just that what camp has join together posting has a way of putting asunder
I missed parade like twice,infact if you are in F3 male hostel you are the real MVP at point soldiers sef start avoiding our room like plague,one day this young soldier came in and asked us to go out for parade naso the guy dey pour us water naso guys change m for the guy o and we went to report the guy and he was call to order is only in F3 that you will enter and see like 10pple sleeping during SAED lectures and other activities crazy guys,camp was fun I enjoyed myself and make new friends,I missed camp and I believe most us too,its so unfortunate we lost 3corp member in course of the orientation exercise they paid the supreme prize while serving their fatherland may they continue to rest in peace and may God continue ťo comfort the family they left behind,wishing us all a wonderful service year we will all leave beyond this service year and fulfil destiny,
