No it's not! Some people are just not good at learning languages especially when it's foreign to them. Most countries excel in education because their students learn in their home languages, it's in Africa where you speak your trad language at home and in school they teach you in a foreign language, this is one of the reasons Africa lags behind in education.


Also I have met a lot of highly technically capable guys who cannot construct a simple sentence in English. Dude can build you a car but doesn't speak English, does that make him any less intelligent? No.

You don't understand do you? A Chinese can build a car but not be able to construct an English sentence because the Chinese was taught to build the car in Chinese. However, the same Chinese will be very fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) the language through which he was instructed. The only reason the Chinese guy can't speak proper English is he was NEVER taught English in school to begin with. If a Nigerian is to build a car, he was obviously taught how to build the car in English - if the Nigerian can neither type or comprehend proper English grammar, how would you expect him to learn how to build a car? If the Nigerian couldn't learn simple grammar how do you expect him to learn more complex differential equations, distribution of forces, combustion equations etc? That's like expecting someone who can't comprehend simple arithmetics to understand and solve complex Euler equations for instance.
