are you blind ? don't you see my post ? I said we loaded the machine fully twice on Friday and twice on Saturday and yet before 4:00pm the money is gone these are five ATM machine having 8m each loaded twice equals to 160m vanish within 2 days
the problem is not cash shortage as all the money u are withdrawing and been brought back to the bank by sellers for deposit but the time frame
if I am your bro or fam I am pretty sure u won't want me to be in the office on Sunday loading one stupid ATM
and I was at shoprite yesterday saw a lot of people buying things and paying with cash I was mad at them I guess u can be one of those people cos those cash was withdrawn from the ATM and shoprite POS was working
a normal educated man shouldnt have more than 5k physical cash again to buy petty things almost all the tangible things nowadays can be bought with POS even rice
If loading the machine twice is not enough....why not load it thrice? ...or four times if so needed?.... and doing the same on Saturday? Your kind mentality is why things are the way they are. The bank should have the machine stocked at all times...... by any means necessary. Now educated you are even calling people who want to use cash as uneducated.... anyone moving around with more than 5k to shop is uneducated. Isn't Nigeria a cash economy? It is people like you in management positions that are holding back progress in this country... again... lack of foresight and very poor problem solving skills. I recommend you learn to play Chess.... you will realise what I'm talking about.

Banks don't have enough physical money to put in the ATMs?.... but have enough for people to make huge OTC withdrawals?... and yes..m withdrawals would be heaviest at Christmas.... every year... don't banks know this?...so why didn't they plan for this by having the machines stocked more often? You have just given a bunch of lame excuses .... showing lack of foresight and inability to solve problems and progress.

You don't know the technicalities of banking. Banks cannot store or hold money because each bank branch has a limit if what they can hold.

Each ATM machine also has a limit of what it can hold.

I know ATMS have a limit... that's why in this season they should be restocked more often. About bank technicalities... I know nothing... absolutely nothing... that's your business....not mine.As a customer/consumer... all I need to know is when I get to the ATM to withdraw... I should be able to do so. It is your job to deal with the technicalities to make it happen.

Never witnessed this during Jonathan's era angry

What is your family to this generation? Definitely a disaster. May God never let us see such a disaster again.

Buhari is the one that goes from one location to another damaging all the ATMs which Jonathan the technician installed. Your case is pathetic and without hope, I think you and your family should just be sacrificed to the gods.

Where is the trash in what they have written? Isn't it true that many ATM machines were unable to dispense cash during the Yuletide period?? shocked

This is poor journalism. I work in a bank. No bank charges for over the counter withdraw with your cheque book.

No bank likes a crowd in their banking halls. It's part of a branch's score for having a crowd in it's banking hall. Each bank branch is rated for the number of customers in the queue. So the less, the better.

The reason for the ATM issue is that demand for withdraws were more than than the ATM could cope with. Then the Federal government paid on the 22nd and 23rd. Then all those government workers were trying to withdraw to buy Christmas things.

And some goats were saying that banks don't have enough money. Yes. They don't have enough PHYSICAL money to put in the ATM to meet demand. CBN hasn't printed new bank notes this year. And all the mutilated money has been moved out of circulation. So there is less physical cash in circulation. Doesn't mean banks don't have money.

What are you saying??!!?? shocked No bank likes a crowd in their banking halls? Have you been to UBA branches in Lekki, Festac & Apapa before?? shocked

Hahahahahahahahahah!!! Is it that bad Better go to another bank.

But seriously if a bank branch has crowd it counts against them in their monthly ratings and affects their manager.

UBA does not care about that one, o! There are quite a number of banks that are known for having large crowds in their banking hall. Maybe your own bank is an exception...

tell your dad to go sit down with the ATM machine and start loading for us every second of the day
mugu
FYI Nigeria is moving away from a cash economy if not for people like you who are strong headed and will prefer to withdraw from the ATM just so they can go inside the bank and deposit the exact same money rather than transfer if not your kind holding us back we would have forgotten about cash

Yeah...each ATM holds between 5 million to 8 million naira. But the sad thing is that most banks do not have a proper roster that would ensure their ATM custodians have the full resources and security personnel to accompany them, when they carry out replenishment functions. Another thing is that the network sometimes can be erratic, which can affect the ATM's ability to function properly. Finally, some banks fail to prepare adequately for the Yuletide season. sad

They know there is always pressure on the ATMs at this period. So they should ensure those machines are serviced properly before the holidays (by running full software checks & hardware checks), and also make sure that more ATM custodians are available for duty during that period, to replenish the machines at increased intervals. undecided

Bro, I realize that people cant really understand some things about a Job until they are in the system of such Job. No amount of explanation will make them see that practical is different from the Theoretical knowledge they dish out online

Well most people do not know that the banking system is nothing but a glorified and legalized ponzi scheme. A little research on the origin of banks will teach you more.
