SEASONS GREETINGS to everybody in the house especially justwise I have applied for the PLAB2 exam in manchester and have some general inquiries about visa application. I am a Nigerian but presently working in Saudi Arabia for a year now.I have a renewable yearly resident permit here, i am also entitled to an annual vacation which is now about 35days which i have deliberately delayed up till now to enable me travel and write my exams. My cause of concern is that i was told it was difficult to get the plab 2 visa here if i apply from saudi arabia because a friend who applied some months ago was told he was refused because he "doesnt have sufficient ties here and should apply from his native country".I am constrained by time difficulty as i have very limited time to be away from work(vacation) so am thinking of starting the process here and if granted ,i could fly back to Nigeria(employer takes care of flight ticker back to youtr native country) and stay for about two days and then fly to Uk to attend a course and then sit for the exam. please how do i prove i have sufficient ties here to avoid visa refusal and is there any problem if i decide to travel to Uk from Nigeria even if the visa is issued from Saudi Arabia. |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by bluepresidents: 1:46pm On Dec 27, 2016 |
justwise:ok thanks for your response. Again,my itinenary during my period of leave is going to show me travelling from Saudi Arabia to Nigeria where i will spend about four days there before i will then travel from lagos to london and my route back will follow similar pathway. Now is this going to be a problem?can i travel from Nigeria to London from a visa that was issued from Saudi Arabia and will the ECO not frown at the idea of sourcing for a visa here from Saudi Arabia rather than from my own country since i am still going to Nigeria eventually. Secondly,my salary account here in Saudi Arabia has enough funds to take care of my trip comfortably, i also have a savings account in Nigeria where the major source of fund input is from transfers i make through friends account i.e ,i pay riyals into their account here in Saudi Arabia and they credit the equivalent amount in naira to my Nigeria account. Is it necessary to also submit this my Nigerian account details to the embassy since my Saudi account can comfortably take care of my travel expenses or there is no need Thanks in anticipation as i eagerly await your response |

Pls house is this refusal a ban I need someone to help explain thanks

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by bbwollex(m): 12:32pm On Dec 28, 2016 |
castiello: My opinion is that i don't think so only if you have proof of any course attended during your period of last visit and show it as evidence to the eco and explained why you never attended the first one you stated on the form filled, you will be reconsidered but if other wise it's a problem on your next application |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by worry359(m): 1:24pm On Dec 28, 2016 |
castiello: You have not been banned. But you have placed a very big red flag on your record bu misusing your visa. They can not believe your statements that you will abide by the terms of the visa. I would suggest that you forget UK for a while and establish a good travel record to other (non African) countries. |

So I got my passport back after some 37 days of waiting. Unfortunately they didn't return my supporting documents(degree certificate and the likes). Does anyone have any experience with this? How long does it take them to return original documents and how do I get them back? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by drobadebayo: 6:14pm On Dec 28, 2016 |
bluepresidents:Hey doc, You can apply from Saudi but the issue is as you said, those ECOs can act funny sometimes. However I doubt if you have more ties to Nigeria than Saudi.Your work is in Saudi and maybe family too. Essentially what you do is apply from whichever country you have more ties to.E.g if you are on a 1year contract and you have only worked, say 6 months and your family z based in Saudi.I would conclude you have more ties to Saudi. And about "starting the process in Saudi and if granted" If u r granted UK visa from Saudi, you don't need to fly to Nigeria. Not quite clear why you want to fly to Nigeria first. I have had friends who applied for Plab 2 visas from Saudi successfully, albeit majority applied from Nigeria. They basically need your work documents, contract, leave documents, proof of residence.Anything and everything that proves u are economically tied to Saudi. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by bluepresidents: 7:36pm On Dec 28, 2016 |
drobadebayo:Thank you Dr Adebayo for taking out time to respond to me. The reason am travelling back to Nigeria first is simply to spend time with my friends and family,am almost at a point of depression here and i just need some getaway to unwind a lil bit, If you have lived here in KSA b4 you will understand what i mean. Also, the government takes care of my ticket during my vacation to and fro to my country of origin so the trip to Naija is not going to cost me anything. In addition, i think it will be wise of me to plan my itinenary to Nigeria first and then Uk, in case in the unfortunate event of me being refused a visa here and then eventually i still have to head back to naija to apply for one. For your friends who applied from KSA and got their Visa, please do you have any tips or idea on how they went about this? Thanks in anticipation for your response. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 9:53am On Dec 29, 2016 |
bluepresidents: To be honest with you I don't know if that itnernary will poss a problem as I haven't come across such case before, though personally I will avoid it or contact the airline first to find out. If your salary account in Saudi Arabia has enough for the application then use that as long as you don't have any other money going into it. |

Many thanks guys for a very educative and enlightening thread. I keep getting back to these pages for up-to-date information on all things visa! I will kindly like to know how payments are being made for UK visa now, with all the restrictions on card payments, cash transactions on domiciliary accounts, etc. My bank -Diamond bank - says you cannot make a transaction/payment on cash lodgments in domiciliary accounts. Please is there any other way around this? Thank you all. |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 5:38pm On Dec 29, 2016 |
segzy0: Your transport figure is high, check the transport for London website and know the zone you will be staying, buy weekly ticket for that zone which will cost less than £50 or buy oyster card which is about £5 then load the card with credit. that card is used for London buses and trans. |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 10:02pm On Dec 29, 2016 |
Kentrasso: You may have to read this https://www.gov.uk/guidance/tax-professional-development-programme Though i don't think he will be able to secure a visa for graduate trainee program in the UK because such program ara mostly for British citizens, EU citizens and commonwealth nationals with right to live and work in the UK. Look out for scam. |
