Biafra restoration is of the mind. Ths is why the agitation continues even though some have died and some are in detention b/c of it. An ideology does not easily die. I don't need to register with any of these groups to make me a biafran. These groups, esp. IPOB, are just pressure groups for the restoration of Biafra. We also have pressure groups like Arewa for hausas/fulanis majorly and Odua for Yorubas.

Don't make that mistake of branding Arewa and Afenifere as pressure groups. They are the face and representation of their people, just as the Ohaneze for the Igbos. Juxtaposing Afenifere and Arewa alongside IPOB or MASSOB is tad disrespectful. You don't brand socio-cultural groups as pressure groups. Never!

With that being registered, the absence of oneness within the Ohaneze Ndigbo has been one of the reasons the Biafra issue has been rocking back and forth. This same problem plagues the Niger Delta. The only two stable socio-cultural groups are the Arewa Northern Forum and the Afenifere. True agitation starts from these groups. This is why it would be very easy for the Yorubas to pull out of Nigeria. The Hausas too can do that effortlessly as their powerhouses are vested in these groups.

The problem with Biafra is not Yoruba as people often claim to say here in the East, but the many selfish interests exhibited by so many Igbo groups. For example, the Ohaneze Ndigbo group keep asking for demands from the FG everyday whereas the likes of IPOB and MASSOB would come out to say something different, while fighting for the TRUE body representing the Biafran struggle.

The lower class scream Biafra night and day like everything would be alright the moment they have it, yet, the political class keep fighting in the Senate because they don't want to lose their seats. Ebonyi as a state is not neck deep into the Biafran struggle compared to states as Anambra and Enugu. Can you see the many problems now?

It explains why I'm indifferent towards the Niger Delta cause. Most of the people coming out to represent us go on Ghost mode after a round table discussion with the FG. Asari Dokubo used to fight for the true Niger Delta struggle, not until Jonathan settled him. Just as the Igbos, we don't have a single voice as the Yorùbás and Hausas, which is one reason people consider those making demands as clowns.

Until Ohaneze Ndigbo can truly represent the ideal of the South East, and MASSOB and IPOB can come together with the Zionist Movement to speak with one single, common voice, then the struggle is nothing but a child's play. The Biafran struggle far transcends beyond Yorubas or any other people out there. The problem is internal but quite frankly, most agitators can't see this because the campaign of hate towards others seems to be the drive to their agitation.
