REPLY TO RENO's HALF TRUTHS

Reply By Osita Okechukwu

On Christmas Day of 2016, President Muhammadu Buhari hosted leading citizens of the Federal Capital Territory led by the minister of the FCT, Muhammad Bello, and during the visit he returned to his old habit of blaming and said, and I quote, "there was no money saved, no infrastructure built, and power is still our main problem."

Reno: This is patently untrue and without mincing words, President Buhari lied.

Former President Jonathan left $2.07 billion in the Excess Crude Account when he handed over to President Buhari on May 29, 2015. He also left Foreign reserves of $29. 6 billion for the incoming government in May 2015.
Osita: This is true when we remember that on May 6, 2010, ex-president, His Excellency, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, GCFR, inherited Excess Crude Account of $17 billion and over $60 billion in Foreign Reserves and left $7 billion Joint Venture Cash debt to International Oil Majors (IOC) and $11 billion foreign debts, many state governments in salary and sundry debts and local debt of uncountable figures. Indeed Nigeria by all accounts was dangerously sliding into a failed state, halted by gallant Nigerian voters.
Reno: If ex President Jonathan left no savings, with what money did President Muhammadu Buhari use to bail out those states that could not pay salary (mostly APC states) after he assumed office in May 2015? Of course the Central Bank of Nigeria did not print money! That money came from somewhere.
Osita: The bail out to states - $2.07 billion = 0. True!
Reno: On Tuesday the 26th of July, 2016, President Buhari commissioned the $1.457bn Abuja-Kaduna standard gauge rail project. This was a project built and COMPLETED by the Jonathan administration. It is a 187 kilometer railway that enables Nigerians to live in Kaduna and work in Abuja. Is this not infrastructure?
Osita: Abuja-Kaduna standard rail project if we recall was initiated by ex-president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, was not completed and Jonathan continued, and Buhari completed it. If Jonathan had completed as Reno, the only man standing on behalf of Jonathan, which is commendable, why is it not listed during the presidential campaign as one of the political capitals of the regime? Why was it not commissioned even by Madam Peace, Her Excellency, Mrs Patience Jonathan WHO was very active?
Reno: The only federal university in President Buhari's state is the federal university Dutsin-Ma was built by former President Jonathan who also built 11 other federal universities in Zamfara, Yobe, Nasarawa, Kogi, Taraba, Gombe, Jigawa, Kebbi, Ebonyi, Bayelsa and Ekiti states.
Osita: New Federal Universities named across the federation, including Dustin-Ma Yes! Built No!

Reno: By building 12 new federal universities and 165 almajiri schools and renovating 507 additional secondary schools all over Nigeria through the Universal Basic Education Commission, the Jonathan administration not only increased access to education, the policy also had the intended side effect of putting hundreds of thousands of youths to work which stimulated the economy and contributed to GDP growth. Are these not infrastructure?
Osita: these are no doubt infrastructure, but built to what level and what in actual sense is the outcome? Were we not advised in school to measure the outcome of every investment made?
Reno: To prove that former President Jonathan prudently and judiciously developed all parts of Nigeria, I will now list, state by state, the infrastructure that the Jonathan administration invested in every state of Nigeria. I challenge President Muhammadu Buhari to contradict me.
Osita: Ladies and Gentlemen, lets pay attention please! To know whether Nigerian voters referendum on the Jonathan's performance is wrong?
Reno: In Abia, Jonathan completed power plants in Aba and Alaoji and reconstructed and reopened Ohafia barracks to stem kidnapping.
Osita: Hope Geometric Power Plant in Aba is not listed, for it is a private venture pioneered by Professor Barth Nnaji during Obasanjo regime. Alaoji is also an Obasanjo pioneered project, over invoiced by Jonathan regime. Details later.

Reno: In Adamawa Jonathan constructed 5 Almajiri schools and the NAF Comprehensive Sec School and a Terminal at the Yola airport.
Osita: Huge infrastructure indeed, for five good budget years for Adamawa State. Five years of unprecedented oil revenue, yet no federal roads, no agricultural projects etc.

Reno: In Anambra Jonathan completed Onitsha River Port, repaired Onitsa-Owerri Rd and kick started the process of the 2nd Niger Bridge.
Osita: yet to locate neither the completed Onitsha River Port nor any ship berthing there. Methinks this is one of the half or false truths dished out to captive audience by Reno. The 2nd Niger Bridge still stands as one of the Jonathan's biggest scams. We may recall Jonathan during the 2011 presidential campaigns proclaiming at Onitsha that the 1st Azikiwe, meaning the great Zik of Africa of blessed memory, completed the 1st Niger Bridge and that the 2nd Azikiwe, meaning himself will complete the 2nd Niger Bridge. It was a hilarious proclamation digested and used effectively to garner millions of votes in the South East region.
In February 2014, Jonathan after a rally at Owerri, where he received some prominent political decampees, like an Emperor touring his kingdom, he flew to Onitsha to confer with the Obi of Onitsha, Agbogidi, Igwe Alfred Achebe, a cerebral royalty. To his chagrin His Royal Majesty after some pleasantries reminded Jonathan who thought that yesterday is gone and that people have short memory, of the 2nd Azikiwe promise. Hell was let loose as he was thoroughly humiliated. As a counter pose they quickly coupled a an over invoiced PPP arrangement, which deferred 360* with the construction of a similar bridge, Owete Bridge, which was awarded under federal budget and about 80% completed.
Reno: In Akwa Ibom Jonathan established a new Federal Polytechnic in Ukana and the Nkari Earth dam and rehabilitated FG rds.
Osita: established as hinted before is far wide from completion. On federal roads, as a road master, I know for one that Aba- Calabar, Calabar-Uyo, Ikot Ekpene-Umuahia etc are in a very bad shape, until recently when Buhari re-mobilized the contractors. Rehabilitated federal roads fall squarely into Reno False Truths.
Reno: In Bauchi Jonathan equipped the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital Bauchi and built 5 Almajiri schools.
Osita: this not the kind of project expected by the good people of Bauchi nor is it commensurate to the heavy support given by the then governor Isa Yuguda and Bala Mohammed at big risk.
Reno: In Benue Jonathan is building the Loko-Oweto bridge, completed the Makurdi Water Supply Scheme supplying to 1 million people.
Osita: this is the only truth in this whole propaganda thesis.
Reno: In Borno, Jonathan has fought desertification with the Great Green Wall Project and rehabilitated the Uba – Mbalala Road. He also set up the Presidential Initiative for the Northeast and the Victims Support Fund which raised ₦59 billion for the Northeast. Interestingly, it is from this PINE that a certain Babachir Lawal is accused of pilfering ₦270 million from.
Osita: Jonathan either by omission or commission allowed Boko Haram insurgents to dislodge Borneo State and indeed the North East region. In fact some pundits posit that the tepid approach was deliberately guided on the firm belief that opinion over the disaster will favor the regime. Whether true or false, the hard fact is that insecurity bedeviled infrastructure in the region during the period under review.
Reno: In Cross River Jonathan rehabilitated the Margaret Ekpo Int’l Airport and Modernised the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital.
Osita: what of dredging of Calabar port or Ibaka deep sea port, is it not possible to add them, assuming that the teaching hospital and the Expo airport were actually completed.

Reno: In Delta Jonathan has taken Itakpe-Ajaokuta-warri railway to 80% completion and kick started the $16B Gas City Project at Ogidigben
Osita: why 80% for rail line that was over 60% on May 6, 2010, when he became executive president? Can Reno tell us how much did Jonathan administration invest in the Ogidigben Gas City Project? One is yet to locate any project completed in the Niger Delta or anywhere else.
Reno: In Ebonyi Jonathan established the Fed University in Ndufe – Alike, repaired over 250km of roads and built power substations.
Osita: Established continues!
In Edo Jonathan completed the Ihovbor power Station, reconstructed the Benin-Ore-Sagamu and equipped UBTH.

In Ekiti Jonathan established the Federal University in Oye – Ekiti, and repaired hundreds of kilometers of Federal Rds.

In Enugu Jonathan gave the S. East their first International Airport and revived the PH-Enugu rail line.

In Gombe Jonathan established the Federal University in Kashere and built 5 Almajiri schools.

In Imo Jonathan rehabilitated the Sam Mbakwe International Airport and completed power stations and built sub stations. #GEJisworking.

In Jigawa Jonathan established the Federal University in Dutse, built 5 Almajiri schools and built silos.

In Kano Jonathan revived the Lagos-Kano rail, built 5 Almajiri schools, renovated the MAKIA Int’l Airport and built silos.

In Kaduna, Jonathan has just completed the Standard Gauge Kad-Abj rail that enables you work in Abuja and live in Kd.

In Katsina Jonathan established the Federal University in Dutsin-ma, built 5 Almajiri schools and multiple silos.

In Kebbi Jonathan established the Federal University in Kalgo, built 5 Almajiri schools and multiple silos.

In Kogi Jonathan established the new Federal University in Lokoja, and completed the Geregu power plant.

In Kwara Jonathan revived Jebba-Kano & Ilorin–Offa rail lines, built Almajiri schools, ongoing reconstruction Ibadan Ilorin Rd.

In Lagos Jonathan revived the Lagos-Kano rail, introduced inter city air conditioned diesel trains and is rehabilitating MMIA.

In Nasarawa Jonathan established a new Federal University in Lafia and rehabilitated the Lafia–Makurdi Rd.

In Niger Jonathan dredged River Niger up to Baro, Baro Port at 95% completion, Zungeru power plant ongoing.

In Ondo Jonathan completed and commissioned the 500 MWs Omotosho Power Plant Phase 2 & renovated the Akure airport.

In Ogun Jonathan rehabilitated the Sagamu-Ore road as well as the Ijebu Igbo Ajegunle–Araromi–Ife-Sekona Road (Section II).

In Osun Jonathan re-equipped OAUTH, constructed silos, built power substations, repaired Efon Alaaye-Erinmo Ijesha-Iwarga Rd.

In Oyo Jonathan is reconstructing (not repairing) Lag-Ibadan Rd and has commenced constructing the Lag-Ibadan hi-speed rail.

In Plateau Jonathan repaired the Vom-Manchok Rd, construction of earth dam in Heipang and power substations.

In Rivers Jonathan revived the PH-Enugu Rail, Rehabilitating the PH International Airport & upgraded Uniport Teaching Hospital.

In Sokoto Jonathan is fighting desertification with the Great Green Wall and built 5 Almajiri schools.

In Taraba Jonathan established the Federal University in Wukari and constructed the Kashimbila Multi-Purpose Dam Project.

In Yobe Jonathan established Fed University of Gashua, Almajiri schools & Gashua–Hadejia 132KV double circuit trasnsmission line.

Osita: Ladies and Gentlemen, established infrastructure dominated Reno's check list and as I posited earlier instead repeating myself like a broken gramophone record, let's ask Reno, if all he eloquently listed are true, how come Jonathan lost the election? Are Nigerians so wicked or backward that they fail to view election as a referendum on the performance of the incumbent?

Keep quite my friend, Jonathan was complete failure that is why somebody like Buhari could defeat him in an election. No single signature project that can be used to remember him, just look at what is being listed as a president of 5yrs achievements.

Let's see Buhari's achievements.
Re: Reply To Reno's Half Truths by realborn(m): 9:03am On Dec 30, 2016
@post,

Please pay attention to the achievements in Kano, Lagos and Rivers States (alphabetical order), the States with most economic viability, how strategic are GEJ's achievements over his 5 years tenure?

Despite the huge resources at his disposal, there were no measurable impactful outcomes.

It is not enough to mass build half baked universities all over the place. What happened to quality? Can the infrastructure of these so called new universities be compared with old Federal Universities? My strategic suggestion will be to revisit the curriculum and methodology of teaching at existing universities for correctness and compliance with the prevailing global standards. Enhance and expand the existing infrastructure of these universities to conducively accommodate more students. Above all, consider how to provide jobs for the geometrical increase in job seekers.

Spending so much and inflating contracts for rehabilitating of existing rail lines and loading them with mundane locomotive coaches is risible, especially when the Obj administration had a masterplan to modernise the railway lines. Other than the Abj-Kaduna rail, how have these locomotive coaches enhanced the lives of the populace? How many persons known to Reno traveled for the yuletide as we did several years back by rail?

While JB was building roads even in bushes at the FCT, the roads in other part of the country were either poorly built or duration stretched, contracts over inflated, snd remained barely completed.

The supposed renovated Airports failed barely less than 6 months after the very expensive refurbishments. PH Airport remains uncompleted, the arrival section remains a makeshift appended tent. Calabar Airport has no working Airconditioning at the main hall. MMIA looks more dilapidated than its previous prerefurbushment state. New control towers for MMIA and Abuja Airports for new Airport wings need to be demolished because they are sitting on important cables. Shame!

Citing Almahiri schools is the most ridiculous of all the so called achievements from the FG. If the root cause of the apathy to education in the North which breeds "Almajirs" is not defined and addressed, the so called education centres will only be good enough on paper.

What of the shameful growth of the BH sect under a leader who cared less despite the huge appropriation of almost a trillion Naira yearly to this fight while Generals fed fat, soldiers killed, others fled, and several civilians killed. Even the abduction of 200 girls didn't bother him. All he bothered about was him, him, him. Left to him, it was a sham. Smh!

The most painful is that Bayelsa State and the Niger Delta gained absolutely nothing, despite their immense contribution to the national purse. Beyond the 13% derivation, the FG gave no hoot afterwards.

I have been searching for where the so called SURE-P buses they claimed they bought and given to every state are parked or where they ply.

Despite the huge noise on Agricultural Revolution, Reno should tell us the measurable metrics as they impact on the economy and on supply. The farming oligarchs were the key beneficiaries.

Jonathan claimed to have brought in automobile OEMs to assemble cars in Nigeria, but the end products were much more expensive than their foreign counterparts. Does this make sense at all? Some protagonists chant employment was provided; at what ratio? The expatriates get the skilled jobs in these establishments and get paid a 100 times more than the local casual staff. Hiw significant is this despite the incentives? What efforts were made to assist and grow Innoson?

On power, the haphazard and poorly planned policies saw disjointed segments along the value chain which made it impossible to see any real change beyond exorbitant bills by the new DISCOs. Today there are huge improvements just by fixing bottlenecks.

Elections which we could have applauded him for was openly compromised in Ekiti State, and untold mayhem recorded in Rivers State.

The list is endless. Every sector has an unsuitable remark under Jonathan. His so called achievements are cosmetic and lack depth.

Buhari has also started his own walk of shame with his monocratic and obstinate nature. In 2019, if he continues with this poor economic performance, he certainly will be given the biggest disgrace from Office. We will not relent until we find a suitable President!

Mchweew... Is not as if we are seeing anything buhari is doing.

If you measure buhari with the same scale used for Jonathan, There will be nothing to credit buhari.

The only thing people will latch on in buhari's government is when he says people didn't steal so much money. NOTHING MORE.

Any other thing, is just sycophants trying to justify their choice of vote.

You don't strike me as someone who will be forthright in appraising buhari. Of course, you will make excuses for him. Anyone who objectively looks at the activities in all the ministries in both administrations knows that you cannot achieve up to what you've discredited in the last administration, with buhari's government.

We shall see what buhari will make of the federal university in his own katsina. They were set up and given billions. It's there for all to see. Let us see what buhari will do.
Re: Reply To Reno's Half Truths by IslamicRebel: 12:20am On Dec 31, 2016
Read this about Islam and you know whether you live in a safe area or not. The percentage population of muslims will determine whether you are safe or not. Please read and share especially with Christians in the Middle Belt.

As long as the Muslim population remains around or under 2% in any given country, they will be for the most part be regarded as a peace-loving minority, and not as a threat to other citizens. This is the case in:

United States -- Muslim 0.6%

Australia -- Muslim 1.5%

Canada -- Muslim 1.9%

China -- Muslim 1.8%

Italy -- Muslim 1.5%

Norway -- Muslim 1.8%

At 2% to 5%, they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups, often with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs.

This is happening in:

Denmark -- Muslim 2%

Germany -- Muslim 3.7%

United Kingdom -- Muslim 2.7%

Spain -- Muslim 4%

Thailand -- Muslim 4.6%

From 5% on, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population. For example, they will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for

Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature halal on their shelves -- along with threats for failure to comply. This is occurring in:

France -- Muslim 8%

Philippines -- 5%

Sweden -- Muslim 5%

Switzerland -- Muslim 4.3%

The Netherlands -- Muslim 5.5%

Trinidad & Tobago -- Muslim 5.8%

At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves (within their ghettos) under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia law over the entire world.

When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris , we are already seeing car-burnings. Any non-Muslim action offends Islam, and results in uprisings and threats, such as in Amsterdam , with opposition to Mohammed cartoons and films about Islam. Such tensions are seen daily, particularly in Muslim sections, in:

Guyana -- Muslim 10%

India -- Muslim 13.4%

Israel -- Muslim 16%

Kenya -- Muslim 10%

Russia -- Muslim 15%

After reaching 20%, nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues, such as in:

Ethiopia -- Muslim 32.8%

At 40%, nations experience widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks, and ongoing militia warfare, such as in:

Bosnia -- Muslim 40%

Chad -- Muslim 53.1%

Nigeria--50%

Lebanon -- Muslim 59.7%

From 60%, nations experience unfettered persecution of non-believers of all other religions (including non-conforming Muslims), sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon, and ***ya, the tax placed on infidels, such as in:

Albania -- Muslim 70%

Malaysia -- Muslim 60.4%

Qatar -- Muslim 77.5%

Sudan -- Muslim 70%

After 80%, expect daily intimidation and violent jihad, some State-run ethnic cleansing, and even some genocide, as these nations drive out the infidels, and move toward 100% Muslim, such as has been experienced and in some ways is on-going in:

Bangladesh -- Muslim 83%

Egypt -- Muslim 90%

Gaza -- Muslim 98.7%

Indonesia -- Muslim 86.1%

Iran -- Muslim 98%

Iraq -- Muslim 97%

Jordan -- Muslim 92%

Morocco -- Muslim 98.7%

Pakistan -- Muslim 97%

Palestine -- Muslim 99%

Syria -- Muslim 90%

Tajikistan -- Muslim 90%

Turkey -- Muslim 99.8%

United Arab Emirates -- Muslim 96%

100% will usher in the peace of 'Dar-es-Salaam' -- the Islamic House of Peace. Here there's supposed to be peace, because everybody is a Muslim, the Madrasses are the only schools, and the Koran is the only word, such as in:

Afghanistan -- Muslim 100%

Saudi Arabia -- Muslim 100%

Somalia -- Muslim 100%

Yemen -- Muslim 100%

Too many almajiri schools built in the north and we are yet to see one. Where are the teachers employed to teach the almajiri if any any almajiri school was actually established. You don't keep the number of teachers static even after establishing more schools.

Nigerianss have gone beyond sentimental and tribalistic votings, should Buhari fail, he will be voted out in 2019. Unfortunately, the only Nigeirans still hooked and dip in the foolishness of tribal, religious and sentimental votings are many igbos and some niger deltans.
So u in ur mind; in a free and fair election; Jonathan lost?

You don't strike me as someone who will be forthright in appraising buhari. Of course, you will make excuses for him. Anyone who objectively looks at the activities in all the ministries in both administrations knows that you cannot achieve up to what you've discredited in the last administration, with buhari's government.

We shall see what buhari will make of the federal university in his own katsina. They were set up and given billions. It's there for all to see. Let us see what buhari will do.

My last paragraph clearly states my conclusion of Buhari's performance so far. There is so much to say about Jonathan who spent 5 years and left. Buhari has spent a year and half, there is so much more to say about him. In 2016, he failed the citizens woefully except for the Rice revolution and progress made against BH but almost lost with his shameful reaction to the rampaging evil herdsmen. We are watching keenly!
