The biggest companies want to have a headquarter in Abuja and the best international hotels are located there. So living in Abuja can be quite expensive, even in low places like Iyanya among others. Housing is costly and food is costly because of the daily influx of people into the city.

But Abuja has the best security in the country and more or less the safest place for tourists and expatriates considering the heavy presence of policemen and soldiers in the city. Remember the president and lawmakers and federal ministers are all resident in Abuja, hence the heavy security mounted day and night there.

The hotels are of international standards, the road networks are exceptionally great, CCTV cameras mounted at every street to minimize crimes, business opportunities abound everywhere, the power supply is very stable, airports are standard, and everything is just fine here. But standard of living is high and may be difficult for low-income earners in terms of accommodation and lodging, feeding, and other things.

Enugu - clean, well organised, large, lovely inter-city road network, commercially buoyant

Uyo- compact and close nitted, clean, affordable and still growing commercially

Calabar- affordable, cool place to be

Sango Otta, Ogun- affordable, cool place to be

Abuja and Lagos are already established cities so I would just include them for that sake.

Best cities to live in- serene cities with peace, low crime, good people, decent housing etc. Abuja, Enugu, Awka, Asaba, Akure, Abeokuta, Uyo, Calabar(in no particular order) takes the lead. These are cities that your door can be open throughout the night and you will not hear a knock. Very peaceful beautiful places to enjoy your wealth.

I believe everywhere you've been in Abuja you were greeted with smelly, noisy, dusty villages. One is not supposed to see slums side by side with your beautiful Abuja. You'll find slums and sleaze side by side with splendor even in Asokoro. A pathetic slum greets you from the air when landing at the airport. Until these slums are cleared please don't praise the city to high heavens.

Is the central area supposed to have one way lanes? Do you know a visitor can never drive into the central area due to the confusion there and the hungry policemen who lurk around knowing fully well a mugu must fall? The singular reason driving in Abuja's central area is difficult is because 50 percent of the roads there are uncompleted. Both avenues taking you into and out of Abuja from the airport have single lanes. Is that OK for the best city in Nigeria?
