There is an active airport in Ibadan. Rebuilt and functional. It is at Alakia. Nice review though.
Rollwitu:
iii. Ibadan

Ibadan is an ancient, laid back city in Oyo State – the center of the Pan Yoruba race. Ibadan is much more serene and peaceful and even very dull compared to Lagos. It has all the trappings of an ancient city, but it is more or less the biggest city in West Africa. Business is always dull in Ibadan, and it is a dead city from the perspectives of those struggling all their lives in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt.

Housing is very cheap in Ibadan, except in GRAs and areas dominated by wealthy industrialists. The road network was terrible, but has now been greatly improved under the previous and current administrations. Power supply is terrible and affects businesses here, but people manage to get by with power generators.

Ibadan is the most peaceful city in Nigeria and the cheapest to live in in terms of acincommodation, lodging, food, and basic necessities of life. The first university in Nigeria – the University of Ibadan, is located here, and the standardized UCH is here. There is no more any active airport in Ibadan, but it is very safe and serene to live in. Business opportunities also abound in the city, but this cannot be compared to Lagos or Abuja.

There are no Ritualists in the statecapital (abeokuta)
Ritualist will always use suburbs or villages.

Most of you don't know abeokuta, you are just saying rubbish

young dude, I know Abeokuta more than you...

1) 70% of the residents are farmers.

2)80--90% of the houses don't have toilets.

3) the residents are local and are really backward.

4) Nothing is in Abeokuta, its just a dead and lifeless town...,no shopping mall, no cinema, no decent hotel, no club, the place is just acheward.

5) No night life.

Which is why people contest population figures.

How can these southern states be so overcrowded yet small small villages with open spaces in the north would have more people.

Just food for thought.

Am interested in this topic cos am planning to move to a new town to settle down by next year march. My proposed destinations include some of the state's mentioned here ; Ibadan, Akure, Makurdi & Calabar. I prefer a destination that is highly commercial with business opportunities, moderate cost of living and safe. My best pick is Akure but am open to your suggestions.

If you are Igbo go to Enugu,

If you are from other part of Nigeria go to Ibadan.

Enugu and Ibadan are similar security wise but cost of living is low in Ibadan and also more commercialized due to proximity to Lagos.
