He's an electrician and he's looking for someone to employ him? I am not understanding again.
Where exactly does he specialise, building or machines?

I think that was a good question above.

I know a few electricians who do freelance work and make a lot of money wiring, repairing electronic issues etc. its way better than employment, he just needs to make friend with landlords, contractors, and he'll always have references.

you mean those already connected, we need a flow of income even if is not large and more over I don't think if it is a bad idea for him to meet with contractors, landlord over here as far as there is job availability.
Apart from human being, jobs in Nigeria is scarce so I think there will be need for publicity in our case, WE NEED HELP, THANK YOU.

Tell him to always visit ongoing site and meet Engr , superior or site owner if he's lucky. It's best when the work is on foundation or to roofing level. If he's good in conduit work, it will be better for him than working in a company as technician because he can make more money as self employ than working in a company where they will not pay him value of his work. He can print complementary card with his contact on it, to be given out when he goes to site.

Your husband has got a good skill and looking for a company to employ him won't be a nice idea since they will only over use him then under pay him at the end of the month.. I will advice he stand on his own and embark on an aggressive marketing mostly at developing sites, talk to people and builders about his specialty and be prayerful as well.. God will remember your family soonest.. Better days ahead Ma..

Working for/with a company is good but I can't do it again.

I have worked with one and my Lebanese boss is a devil, they treat people like shits and I almost fought him at a site in Wuye, Abuja.

As a beginner, he will be getting 2.5k - 3k a day. That's not really bad if you have no option but it's too poor for someone who trusts himself.

Here's what I did when I left the Lebanese devil.

Roam streets in search of sites.

Get close to the contractor when I see one and drop my contact.

I drop my contacts at new sites and uncompleted buildings.

Get close to those that deal on electrical parts and introduce myself to them and beg them to call me when there's work.

Collect their own contact and always keep intouch.

Make friends with plumbers and builders, they will tell you when there's work.

With these steps, he will get work in a short time.

I currently don't have a site, I would have loved to work with him but I have saved your contact just in case.

you have passed the msg and those who really understand you don't ask much questions but rather keep you and your family in mind and will get back to you once there is an opportunity. just keep praying. one more thing, you need to state your present location.
