Please who "officially" devalued our Naira since the president said it wasn't him.
He also resisted increase in petroleum products. But we know petrol is now N145, up from N87.
So who authorized all these while the president was resisting them?

The old man is just a clown

Let me take u back a little, when PMB came back from medical trip he organized a dinner with business men Aliko Dangote was there they where discussing with Buhari, Dangote was complaining within a week he lost millions of naira because of the dollar fluctuation, then Buhari was like ohhh what happen why do they change the price what is wrong and that was the time Buhari got to know Naira was devalued. Nigeria is stupid country the powerful forces that are taking advantage of our ignorance and I don't care attitude of the masses to stand and say no to their leaders is what is hunting us. Most of the so called developed countries we are the ones developing them at the detriment of our own failure US, Brazil, China, even India without our market they are going no where. The IMF are the powerful forces using the cabal in every administration to nail our country down, and we the masses we are the ones to stand against it.

Buhari and the past is like 5&6. Is he scared of being overthrown again? Don't worry, IBB did the job in 1985, but good Nigerians will do the job come 2019.

Mr President you have already did it through your economy hardship fiscal policy, because power of Supply and Demand do play very high significant in Price control, Inflation rate. Interest rate and foreign direct investment, all this mentioned variable are the indicator for any nation Monetary policy and it will as well dictate level of leaving standard of Mass.
Mr President Nigeria Economy is already hit rocked unless you form a very strong Economy decision making team, which must comprise Investors, manufacturers,Businessmen and decision maker to rescue our economy from present situation.

Emefiele should resign if he can't resist executive influence, else he would be equally at fault. You have made no point at all.

Emefiele has got to be ingenious in sidestepping the worst parts of executive interference and of course he shares the blame when things go wrong under his watch but u really can't escape or rule out executive interference. It's not that clear cut and certainly not all black and white...it's much better to have a sane abd intelligent boss than to have to be forced to cope with or work under a dumb n ignorant thief that won't let you work.

OKDnigeria:
President Muhammadu Buhari has restated his resolve not to devalue the naira or increase the price of fuel.

He made this known in Abuja on Friday night, during the 2016 regimental dinner organized by the presidential brigade of guards.

Buhari also suggested that his refusal to devalue the naira and increase fuel price during his time as Military Head of State in 1984-1985, led to his overthrow.

“I have resisted the devaluation of the naira, increase of the petroleum products, among others,” he told the soldiers and officers.

“When I was military head of state, I rejected similar advice by the IMF and World Bank to devalue the naira.

“I refused and gave my reasons and the next thing I knew I was removed and detained for three and half years.

“As a civilian president, I will do my best and I’m telling you all these because you are part of the leadership of this great country and God willing we will remain great.”

When Buhari assumed office in May 2015, the exchange rate was N197/$1. It currently stands at over N300 to $1 officially and N495/$1 in the black market.

Please check the records, this man was thrown out on August 27, 1985 not 84.
This thing was on fp yesterday.
In all honesty Nigeria was already bleeding as at April 1984; people have started queueing up for essential needs. It was just 4 months after, so devaluation is just a cock and bull story!

No sir! You were overthrown for your incompetence not for Naira devaluation. Nigerians wouldnt have troop out enmass in 1983 when your government was overthrown because of mere Naira saga. They were hungry, oppressed and felt betrayed

There goes the idiot and his senseless talk again. You refused to devalue the naira partially as suggested but the naira has devalued itself and fallen lower than it would have been, if it was officially devalued. At 200/$1,if we had done a 50% devaluation, official rate of the naira would have been 300/$1 and the gap between it and the parallel market wouldn't have been more than 10 naira, leaving the naira to 310/$1 on the parallel market. But this idiot refused to heed advice and we now have about 5 forex markets with the most active of them, exchanging dollar for 490/$1. This is about a 130% devaluation of the naira and this is due to buhari's stupid and useless policies and decisions. Dude is still here, talking nonsense.

This man is clearly a lunatic living in fantasia..Does this guy realise that the Naira now trades at 500 to a single dollar ,does he realise that Nigerians now pay 145 a litre for fuel when he met it at 87 just a year ago , does he realise we pay 50 percent more for electricity than we did a year ago .. what the hell is he saying that he won't the devalue the naira when the naira is already the worst performing currency in the world under his lunacy
