Good evening Gurus... Another question please: Is there anyone currently a student of university of Manitoba, University of Saskatchewan or University of Calgary or have gained admission to the school? Please is there anyone..... I really need advice on the itself and the application stuffs? Thanks. |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by Austinpee4: 9:59pm On Jan 01, 2017 |
abdullahi45:You should be more concerned about gaining admission for your intended program. When you are ready to apply for your study permit, many factors will come in play and not just your NYSC. i'll advise you to focus more on your admission and let the rest be in perspective. With a good application, you can get your study permit.NYSC or not. |

Danoluwa:Your purpose of visit will be questioned at any attempt to apply for a study permit with an advanced diploma. This is a NO NO! One thing to note is that, gaining admission is one thing and getting a study permit is another. You have a bsc and an msc..A diploma is NOT an academic progression for you considering your academic level. If you choose to apply for a masters instead, you may which to leave out the previous one you got out totally in your study permit application while explaining circumstances surrounding any academic gap(s). Choose a program that is best related to your previous education and study interest and relate this to your situation as you show a progression academically and career wise. |

hello everyone. i have acceptance for an undergrad program(pre pharmacy) at University of Winnipeg.the program lasts only one year because it only consists of prerequisites. i originally want to study Pharmacy but it is nt a direct entry program anywhere in canada so i have to take the prerequisites first which is wht i will do at university of winnipeg. now my question is, is it going to be problem(while applying for my study permit) that the program i've been accepted for lasts only one year, even though i will state it in my SOP that i will transfer to another university after completing the requisites? i plan to transfer to MUN for the pharmD program which wuld last 5 more years. any advices? |

Hello house Happy new year everyone. Visa application done online since September 21 isn't it already 14weeks? |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by Osemigho: 8:44am On Jan 02, 2017 |
keylaz: School fees (per year) - roughly #2m - #7.5m depending on course and school. Upkeep per year( feeding, accomodation, clothing, etc) - roughly #2.5 depending on number of dependants, lifestyle, and province. Total - #4.5 - 10m depending on the above factors. Goodnews: if you have high CGPA in your last two years of study ( 80% and above) and going for thesis based program, you are likely to get scholarship that will cover the above expenses. Bad news: you will have to do lot of personal reading, except you have Money for agents ( not advisable), and you have to be very patient as the whole process can take a year/+ starting from the day you get serious with your reading on the whole process. Welcome to the world of reading voraciously for knowledge and not to pass course. All the best. 9 Likes |

abdullahi45: You have the best answer already. Worry not about NYSC and visa. Some here got their visa before, during and after it. Apply for admission first and read from part 7/8 of this thread for Visa advise and past applicants profiles. Getting admission isn't as easy as you think, except you are going for colleges - no funding. Cross that bridge first! All the best |

kike100: 1- application to your interested program or visa? 2- don't think it is relevant. 3- anybody can sponsor you. But you will need to prove your relationship with that person and why that person want to sponsor you. 4- don't think so since you aren't idle before now and not over 50 years. 5- according to records here, it may be a bit challenging. But people had been successful about it before. Perhaps you need successful applicants with similar profile as yours to mentor you. Read and search for them here. 6- I don't think so, since it is recent. Guess you can always quote seeking admission or something else. Note: all have said is based on my reading and not personal experience. Never apply for visa, not even SA visa. Be cautioned before accepting them. 2 Likes |

Austinpee4: I think i will disagree with you on that, i av a friend who's a geologist, and had msc in petroleum geology and presently at SAIT for a 2yrs pgd in petroleum engineering technology, he declared his msc and was given TRV. Every1's case is different, phd or msc is not a must, if u av a good SOP and and a tite app u'll get ur TRV. |
