Did you use fastboot method or recovery method( ie if your recovery had not been tampered with by the vendor )

Used download method with fastboot ROM,
Already requested for unlocking of BL from Xiaomi to enable recovery flashing.

You can ignore the part where it says you should download the EU Rom if you dont want it.

If ure having difficulty getting to download mode (EDL) through ADB, this is how i got there.
1. Turn off your phone
2. Connect usb to PC alone
3. Press and hold both volume keys
4. Connect usb to phone
5. "Qualcomm HS- USB QDLoader" driver should install on your PC (You can confirm this by checking Ports in device manager)
6. Dont worry if nnothing shows on the screen, as long as the driver installs, youre good to go
7. Continue with flash.

Clicked on the link you provided. Walahi it seemed like I was reading Greek. I didn't understand shit. Lol. Seems I would look for a naija xiaomi group to join for sum1 to assist me or I go just quietly hold my fone as e be. I can't shout

House, I ordered Redmi 3s from geekbuying on 13/11/16 and eventually pick it today from the Post Office.
However after booting it on, it indicated "No SIM"
I discovered the following:
- WiFi not working. Switches off immediately after being switched on.
- Bluetooth not functional.
- FM Radio not working
- Invalid IMEI - when I tired chworking.
-No sound. Only vibration.
- The MUMI has 5 digits - vendor installation is likely here.
Please can this be attributed to software or hardware ?
What is the next step to take - pls help a brother here.

How long did it take for the unlock request to be granted by xiaomi and what was the reason you gave for unlocking the bootloader
