ALMUSTAQIM: I thank you for this point you raised. This Forum is filled with sentimental bigots who can't reason beyond religious, tribal, ethnic and Political sentiments The same PMB tried to reduce importation and strengthen the naira by increasing availability of dollars in the country but people screamed to high heavens. Importation of drugs are mostly done by the Igbos and they determine the prices, So how dare you clueless ones blame PMB for that, You can condemn this administration as much as you like but if it fails we all suffer and if it succeeds we all succeed. And news for all that rejoice over PMBs failure...... our Children will feel the impact not PMB 1 Like |

Nigeria will NOT continue importing all manner of drugs into the country. I am g3tting sick of Nairaland. It appears every one hangs his brains at home while posting or some people on the platform have not even gone to school. Nigeria has some of the best pharmaceutical companies in the world and that industry should be allowed to grow. I don't like to be tribalistic but the IBO tribe is losing its collective IQ. Just listen to some extent of the LIES some young ones are posting here. Some idiot even called it wicked and heartless. What congenital stupidity wold make one not reason before commenting?. All SE owned pharmaceutical companies are being protected by the same m3asure that done stupid young Ibos are calling heartless. So it is "heartful" for Nigeria to be importing Chloroquine? This is a LOST generation I have taken a measure of this tribe and they won't amount you anything. In the 60s, they were broad minded, intellectual, free but the children of the children of those people are just chaff. I am sorry but I have to say the truth. Inferiority complex, lies, paranoia has destroyed the minds of this generation of Ibos 4 Likes 1 Share |

Adminisher: Most of the anti malarials used in Nigeria are no longer any patent and are now available generics so dont need any licence to make them , the ish is most of the bases and active ingredients must be imported , This policy will only increase the prices of anti malarials and open a gate way for fakes to thrive like they did after Buharis first stint as president .. As we speak Evans who have made it a goal to manufacture most of their drugs in Nigeria have stopped since last year due to Buharis bad policies , are aware before he took over in 1984 many international pharmaceutical had factories here and his poor vision and policies chased all of them away, Do you know before he came in 1984 we mitchellin and dunlop had manufacturing plants here but his bad policies killed them all ..are you aware that Buhari is a killer of industrialization , please go and read your economic history 3 Likes |

idupaul: That is very dishonest. Michellin and Dunlop were still producing in Nigeria as at year 2002. If they failed 20years after Buhari why do you ascribe their failure to his 1984 administration? Strangely now he is looking to promote local manufacturing by keeping custom duty for industrial equipment at 5% you still attack him with such dubious vigor. You need to manage your hatred for this man before you lose all credibility. 4 Likes |

Hmmmm, Everyone on this forum can afford malaria medicine at its current price, and will be able to even if the price is hiked by 50%. Now, there are thousands-millions-who can't afford it even at present price. Doesn't it sound scary to hear multitudes dying of malaria? Having read the objective posts, I do feel that we need to start to limit importation of drugs. But it can't be done overnight. Such high consequence policies need to be phased in, not begun abruptly. Lastly, people we really need to focus on issues and not paint everything with tribal, personal and party sentiments. |

People just come here and say absolute rubbish of what they have very little knowledge about. The one crying about the ban of anti-malarial have not even bother to visit any of the drug market and see so many rubbish from China and India they call anti-malarial. Apart from lokmal emzor also produce diasunate too which is for malaria. Love Buhari or hate him the ban is to encourage local production which every right thinking nigerian should applaud. Or do you want to criticize because you like criticism? 2 Likes |
