House, I ordered Redmi 3s from geekbuying on 13/11/16 and eventually pick it today from the Post Office.
However after booting it on, it indicated "No SIM"
I discovered the following:
- WiFi not working. Switches off immediately after being switched on.
- Bluetooth not functional.
- FM Radio not working
- Invalid IMEI - when I tired checking.
- The MUMI has 5 digits - vendor installation is likely here.
Please can this be attributed to software or hardware ?
What is the next step to take - pls help a brother here.
Bough mine from geekbuying on 11-11 and everything is working perfectly, also on vendor rom sha

How long did it take for the unlock request to be granted by xiaomi and what was the reason you gave for unlocking the bootloader

I haven't been granted yet o, made the request today, told them the honest truth that i wanted to install custom ROMS as well as get root access to run some apps

I am not a novice on phone usage. So you can be sure that nothing here could be attributed to my naive or oversight. Besides is it absolutely impossible to happen?

Is it safe to give Phone technicians to flash?
When I searched online, I saw phlotera of guidance on flashing and even dudes here claimed to have ran into problems when flashing. So any particular step to flash Redmi 3s safely.
Pls help answer?

Bootloader unlock is not required if you're flashing to official rom

Bootloader unlock is only necessary when flashing from recovery or fastboot. the link grandmufti gave is for flashing from EDL.
Dont forget to enable USB Debugging in developer setting before starting. It wasn't mentioned in the tut

Guys glad to see many folks are getting aboard the Xiaomi express grin grin now about rom flashing and all. In all sincerity it is quite easy and straight to the point. There is even a forum where you get at least 2 to 3 guides on how to flash the said roms so nothing to be worried about. All you need is patience to read and follow instructions.
