How Do I Build A Septic Tank / Soakaway In This Situation? (pic Attached) by Pesuzok(m): 4:12pm On Jan 05, 2017 |
I want to build my septic and soakaway, but noticed that it has a low water bed. The plumber has just taken the best slope for the chambers by raising the pipes above the ground and the point of entry into the septic is quite low. Please I need suggestions. 1 Share

Pesuzok:they've many ways of solving this problem including burying a plastic tank underground and emptying it regularly, it's best to talk to a Mason or builder in your area. 3 Likes |

you should consult a professional used to this kind of work, u would not understand even if I explain. you should have made the precast septic tank because of the site nature. no need of leaving this pipes all exposed if the proper work is done. thou the septic tank is more expensive couple with the site nature, but it would last you decades without collapsing. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

Concrete Precast sunk Soakaway/Septic tanks is your best bet... No need running any pipes above surface... Read from this page link and few more pages forward: https://www.nairaland.com/2004074/reconstruction-diary-5-bedroom-bungalow/1 Hajji M. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Yes ,you are right hajji, but according to the pics posted, the man has dug the suck/safety tank already so what need now is concrete but cast in-Situ, but he will need an expert to carry out the job for him. |

rotecch77: True Oga mi... cast and suck away the water from the present hole and use crane to lift and throw it in the hole... There is always a work-around to it. Hajji M. |

rotecch77: Can he just fill it back and then do the Lekki type above ground casting? Then the sinking will be easier since the soil will be soft already. 3 Likes |

Yes hajj Same method here, when choosed Pre cast method @egun to switch bqck to Pre cast method here again means he will spend to fill the excavated are back and re dig it again when sinking the concrete, that will be double spending oo .that is why I suggested cast in-Situ 2 Likes 1 Share |

How did you dig the foundation of the house ? I'm not a structural engineer. But you could contract a welder to design a big watertight underground tank and have the sewage channeled inside it ![]() The height of the tank must be projected above ground level. |

You can still cast in-situ but only a professional can do that for you and if that can be properly done, it is very better than precast. 1 Like 1 Share |

Pesuzok:get a pulping machine, plum the water out 1st then continue digging,or build the septic thank then cast it and allow it to dry well, then u start digging it from the inside, gradually sink it self... But it will cost u up to 120k... |

my brother it's a simple login, get a dewatering, that small pump so as to remove water and dry the surface of the excavated pit, as you drain, you dig to your required dept, it's idea you do a dry casting with water cement or I prefer the wet casting with your normal cement, with thickness of about 2inches from the ground, don't worry about the water coming in from the ground it won't do any damage but would even help in solidifying your mortal. As for the piping system once you have been able to achieve your septic tank theres no fear, you can't raise pipe more than that cause it won't flow.
