My problem with Pogba has been his inability to do simple things in the midfield. Dude would prefer leg-over to giving a quick simple pass. Good he's learning and doing better not necessarily very good.


With the likely exit of Morgan, we seriously need a midfielder since European football is coming and Carrick can't play twice a week

When Dudes gonna stop debating on Pogba's price Tag on this Thread?! Is he not performing well at the moment?! Is he not gradually living up to expectations?!

Pogba is a fantastic Player, he's still a young and developing Player! He's gonna definitely come good and hopefully achieve his Dream - winning the World Best Player Award - as a Second United and EPL Player to ever win the Award!

The price tag is probably the reason why he's here in the 1st place. We needed him the most, so we coughed the money out. Had his price been lower, who knows how many other clubs would have shown interest?

AND

The 89m could have bought more players (100 elnenys a stupid arsenal fan even said once, when we are not building a pyramid)

Did Jose Mourinho ask for another midfielder and was told no because he had already spent 89 on pogba? No
Our buying other midfielders is not tied to pogba's fee.
It is tied to getting rid of deadweight like teiger, Schneiderlin, fellaini etc same way the inability to sell Rojo kept us from signing another CB in the summer.
So blame that old German man for refusing to leave and forming professionalism, not pogba's fee

The 89m yarns Is very quickly becoming stale.
Player does well, wetin before he cost 89m?
He doesn't do well, he cost 89m.

The relevance of that fee in grossly overstated.

A goalkeeper is a goalkeeper. When you spend 52m on a Keeper, this is what you buy


Buffon is easily the greatest goalkeeper of the modern age, and if you ask any Manyoo fan, they will tell you that VDS is in your top 2 keepers ever.

So why shouldn't we expect goals and assists from the 89m midfielder? I can see you are looking for goals from your keepers so maybe it's cleansheets that Pogba should be giving us...and even there he is failing too. grin

I don't care what eulogies he get, from where I am standing; Local records all round.

If you are expecting goals and assists from midfielders to justify anything, I see no reason we can't expect the same from goalkeepers, especially when my record tells me that some goalkeepers managed to rake in more career goals than some outfield players.

Well he was a liability back then in a two man midfield. Always trying to beat 2-3 people, losing the ball in the process and then creating problems for our defence and midfield. If not that mourinho brought in Carrick where would we have been?

Not really. He still hasn't impressed me. For the fact that we still have to spend huge to replace Carrick after spending this much is a testament to the fact that we have issues identifying targets and negotiating good deals. Pogba is a good player yes but nothing out of the extraordinary when I compare him with others playing in his position or around the midfield.
