ojWinston: I Woke Up this Morning at 5 o’clock. Couldn’t stop Praying even while showering. My appointment was for 7.30. I left the house at 5.30 on getting to CMS bus stop I was stopped by Policemen. They where stopping virtually everyone holding an envelope or folder. They searched through my documents, specifically searching for my sponsors statement. They said I should call my sponsor to confirm the statement isn’t forged or I didn’t steal it. Unfortunately I didn’t go with my Phone after much argument and shouting one of them called me aside and said they don’t want to be an hindrance to my progress that I should shake body. The collected 2k and let me go after wasting my for about 15mins. Fast forward I got to the embassy gate @ about 7am after all the checking and finger printing I was told to line up at window 3 behind an elderly woman. Her interview took a while because they had to get an interpreter. My interview went thus: VO: Good morning Me: Good Morning Pass Your Passport and I20 Me. I did V.O: Tell Me about your study plans Me: I am going to Morgan state University to pursue a master’s degree in Project management. VO: Why Project management? Me: I seek a Masters Degree in Project Management because I am confident it would give me a competitive advantage among construction professionals in the Nigerian construction Industry. V.O: What did you study in your first degree? Me: I have a Bachelors degree in Quantity surveying. V.O. And you have been working as a quantity surveyor. Me: Yes I have V.O: Who would be paying your fees? Me: I have the support of my Uncle. VO: What does he do? Me: He is an architect and owns a construction company. VO: Have you travelled to the US before Me: Yes I have The she kept typing for a while and dropped my passport in the box beside her. You pick up your passport in three working days at she circled and passed me the white paper. Don’t forget to take your I20 with you. No Document was checked NB: I had a valid B1B2 and was scared as hell because I heard so many stories that if I get denied my B1B2 would be cancelled. Thank you all for your contributions on this thread it has been so helpful. I wish all intending applicants Gods favour your testimony is on the way.

pls is it possible (by possible I mean the chances, the probability ) for one to get visa when you have ties in America? by ties I mean an uncle and he's your major sponsor (bank statement and all). The school is a community college and on the ds-160/form I'm to input his address and other details as where I'm staying when I arrive in the U.s. Thanks in advance. can one pay for visa fee and be able to use it after 6-7 months? |

Mekurexx: I keep telling folks that care to listen that Istanbul airport is the best or among the best 3 airports in the world. I have very fond memories there... Congrats and enjoy your stay in USA It's beautiful according to what I heard also. But unfortunately, there are other great airports like Tokyo International Airport and Singaport Changi Airport. Even Hong Kong International Airport. This particular airport was built on the water. Another great airport is Munich Airport. I SMH for Nigeria. |

mjksho: House, please I am here again to ask the gurus in the house about the following schools based on your experience and knowledge
New Mexico Tech Louisiana Tech University of Louisiana at Lafayette
Funding and cheap tuition is a major consideration. I am going for MS Chemical engineering.
I appreciate the 2 nairalanders that responded to my earlier enquiry which has made me fine-tune my search. God bless you all. From what I know, UL Lafayette don't fund incoming grad. students but their tuition is around $20k per year I think. |

anaccondac: Calm your tip down. They wouldn't make provision for such in the first place. You can adjust your status to F-1 while on B1 visa. You are not violating your visa terms in NO way You can't adjust status from B1/B2 to F-1 anymore. It's highly difficult on Nigerian passports unless you have some connections or maybe you're extremely lucky. 1 Like |
