PietroRico: But you forgot so soon that Kante dominated Pogba in a 2-man midfield setup? What has helped Pogba so far is the 3-man midfield he played in and it was actually Carrick who dominated that midfield as well as putting Alli in his pocket, not Pogba! Pogba had a free roaming role. Pogba is good and quite incisive but his reading of the game and control is wack! And I'm not sure what would have happened if Spurs had used 352 on us because then, they will not only have Toby Alde stepping from the back into the middle but also Eriksen to get the middle congested even if Alli got man-marked. 1 Like 1 Share |

ChristineC: LOL. Really? You expect Zlatan to criticize Pogba like we the unknown fans would? Let me start with asking you, how many times have you seen team-mates criticize one another talk more of with strong terms? Rooney has been criticized in all quarters by pundits and fans alike, but can you quote the "criticisms" from his team-mates or coaches? Hodgson, Southgate, Allardyce, or van Gaal, which of them had criticize Rooney even though deep down it's glaring that Rooney wasn't on form? Even Van Gaal sold off our strikers and declared that Rooney MUST play, that's how much a coach guards his players. So you're expecting Zlatan to criticize Pogba that's his personal friend? Someone that he played a part in Pogba arriving at United by threatening his agent to make sure Pogba comes to United. You make me laugh. When Pogba was underperfoming for us, what any of his team-mates at club and Country would have said was 'he needs time. . . He's a talented player' etc. That's how it works. CR7 criticized his team-mates, you know what happened next, right? Aurier criticized his team-mates, you know what happened, right? Roy Keane's career ended at United after which incident? C'mon, you shouldn't be expecting players to go hard like we fans would. If tomorrow United buys me and it happens that Pogba was being crappy in games and facing criticisms and I was interviewed about Pogba, my reply will be; "Pogba is an intelligent player. One of the best around, things might not be going well for him but I've no doubt in my mind that he'll turn this around. He needs time. He's not a magician. Seria A and EPL are different, the intensity in EPL makes it difficult. Once Pogba masters it, you'll see the wonders he can do. . . Blah blah blah " That's how United players will usually talk about team-mates. But the same me as a faceless fan will probably say; "Pogba, if you try that useless step-over again, the thunder that will fire you is yet to enter the new year." It's us the fans, it's the pundits that will state the facts as it is, the players will sound diplomatic. That's how it works. And talking about time, Zlatan gave that interview last week, can you show me anyone criticizing Pogba in recent times on this thread talk more of last week? You're failing to factor in the time of our criticisms. In recent times when he's been playing well, we've been happy with his performances. I'm not the type to butt-lick a player when he's constantly playing shît. I'll criticize as at when due, and praise you when one plays well. If you're waiting for me to praise Pogba for useless displays, I won't. Cahill, Luiz and Alonso has been integral part of the Shekpe side that won 13 games at a stretch, but guess what? They have been criticized in some of those games. That's football for you. Boateng was immense for Bayern last season, but he's been publicly criticized by his club legend this season. Maybe coz he's played well in the past, he shouldn't be criticized. Anthony Martial did himself big favors by flying out the tracks like an F-liner jet before merchants armed to teeth with clubs and sharp daggers like Nihilist could say "Mallam cut suya". You cannot even begin to imagine the rocks that would have landed on him had he managed anything like a slow start... and all for what? £57m will fill the air; never mind he was a virtually unknown. POGBA is the architect of his earlier misfortune. Doing his job simply, winning balls, releasing the ball on time like he's doing now and helping in attack occasionally, would have spared him all the harsh criticisms. His showboating and trying to go for personal glory at the expense of the team is stupid. Choosing to dribble when one is making run for a through pass won't garner you praises. Keep it simple and win people over like he's doing now. Plus he cost 89m, he should have known extra attention will be paid to everything he'll be doing. You should be thankful the management got the signings they did last summer if you are a Manchester United fan. No championship winning team was built in 6 months. I don't get this. Did I say I was expecting Mourinho to build a championship winning side in 6 months? Maybe you're ignorant of the fact that I'm among those that support Mourinho and have said severally that no matter what happens this season, I'll support him. I really don't get why this post came up. 4 Likes |

Nihilist:apology for what If you think I joke with my other room duties you are on your own. Basically 'we' all use the other room so no qualms. *you referred me to other expensive players (all attackers remember) and their 'performances' are weighed in goals **i checked the most expensive goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon valued at €52m in 2001 and his 'performances' exclude goals. • Rogerio Ceni had 109 career goals • Jose Lius Chilavert had 62 career goals • Dimitar Ivankov had 42 career goals. Why should I not expect goals from the most expensive goalkeeper, according to your assignment? after all goals win games, not clean sheets! <Be bold to tell me scoring goals is not their primary job, I'll not argue.> ***i have had the luxury of checking up the most expensive center backs. David Luiz valued at £50m in 2014 and has scored only 10 goals for clubs. John Stones valued at £48m has only 1 career goal. • Ronald Koeman scored 239 career goals • Daniel Passarella scored 134 career goals • Fernando Hierro scored 133 career goals. <Be bold to tell me scoring goals is not their primary job, I'll not argue.> Paul Pogba is not exemption. He has weighed in with hid fair share of goals and assists. I see you pointing out Fabregas for 100 assists or whatever. That's a mischievious analogy because an assist is only credited should your teammate be shrewed enough to score from the pass. How many chances were created by the midfielder? That is the way to go. The base detail here is that football is a team sport. • Buffon will not keep clean sheets all by himself • Luiz will not keep clean sheets all by himself Same way Paul Pogba will not win tackles, create chances and score the chances all by himself. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

ChristineC: Very good, because I am about to send you back there post haste. *you referred me to other expensive players (all attackers remember) and their 'performances' are weighed in goals This is the original reason why you went off on a tangent emiting crappy utterances as you went. Let me remind you of my original post here: Nihilist: Not only is there a complete absence of the word 'goals', there is also nothing to imply that the world's most expensive players must always be attackers. You basically looked at my post, found it boring, composed a new argument in your head, and proceeded to argue with yourself. Pogba's early performance and even recent performance has been below what is expected from an 89m pound player. Your own fans are not even complaining about a relative lack of goals and assists, they are complaining about his inability to pass on time, and his inability to do the right thing at the right time. I think you live in the UK for some reason, but if you don't, ask around. The Adidas advert with Pogba dabbing about under the bright neon letters 'I came to create' has only just stopped showing at half-time intervals during most games, presumably because somebody realised that Pogba was only creating a headache for the advertising company. Given this level of hype and the boy's price tag(and his ridiculous haircuts -shoutout to his barber), let us rewind to my original question - what is a reasonable expectation from Pogba? One legover and 2 dabs per match? [s]**i checked the most expensive goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon valued at €52m in 2001 and his 'performances' exclude goals. Stupid analogy not worth a reply [s]***i have had the luxury of checking up the most expensive center backs. David Luiz valued at £50m in 2014 and has scored only 10 goals for clubs. John Stones valued at £48m has only 1 career goal. Stupid analogy not worth a reply Paul Pogba is not exemption. He has weighed in with hid fair share of goals and assists. I see you pointing out Fabregas for 100 assists or whatever. That's a mischievious analogy because an assist is only credited should your teammate be shrewed enough to score from the pass. How many chances were created by the midfielder?. Completely irrelevant to this discussion because My post on Fabregas was directed to Dopejemi and discussing something different. My post prior to that mentioning Fab also mentions the fact that an assist takes two to tango so no points for repeating that here. If you must know tough, Fabregas has almost always been amongst the top chance creators wherever he plays and I can give you charts for that later. Basically what you've done is looked at Pogba and said 'If Keepers are not expected to provide goals and assists, then Pogba must not be expeted to provide goals and assists... Even Pogba is looking at you like 'Bruh' 3 Likes |
