Road worthiness is 2k
And the insurance costs 5k (for a third party insurance),if your vehicle license has been automated,its only the v/license u have to renew if it has expired for long

There are some latest model of cars that have been pre-fitted with the factory luminous redlight,if your vehicle falls into that category you do not need a reflective tapes at the rear bumper.
And let me say `yes' and 'no'.
Yes in the sense that it can be added to other offences if you are found wanting in of the traffic laws.
No in the sense that it if you dont have any offences,you can be warned or advised to go get one for your vehicle.

when you say its not reflected online you mean you have checked it on federal road safety site and is not found?
Right,the problem is probably from the motor vehicle licensing agency or the federal road safety,they have failed to update the information on the database that is why it is bringing up such (We saw that the plate number has been assigned to the vehicle but it has not reflected online).

the best and the most reliable database for checking of vehicle documentation is the courtvilles application.

It takes less than a day to register your vehicle,simply walk into any licensing office with the custom papers of the vehicle and detail to get it registered.

Driving test is compulsory for all fresh applicants and they are to be tested by VIO after passing through the driving school.
You may wish to confirm if 'many people' you said have original drivers licence.

I have a Toyota Corolla which was registered in the name of the company I used to work with because it was bought on loan. I have not done the change of ownership after I completed the payment since 7 years ago but all the papers are up to date.

The issue now is that I want to give the car out to my brother in law who lives in Ondo State. Does he really need to do a change of ownership? If he has to do that, can the car be registered with an Ondo state plate number? Also, if it is not necessary to do a change of ownership, is a road worthiness certificate important since he is not using the car in Lagos?

Doing or getting a change of ownership on the vehicle is a matter of choice for you considering the numbers of years you have used the vehicle.
Also,roadworthiness cartificate applies to all categories of vehicle in any state in nigeria,therefore since the vehicle would now be used in akure,you can easily apply for roadworthiness certificate in any VIO office closer to you there.
