princeadedayo:I can understand your point clearly but just so you get all i wrote. VFS is tasked with the responsibilty of transmitting passports from the canadian embassy to applicants. Sometimes, applicants choose to use courier service to submit their passport to the embassy upon request and like you pointed out, depending on where you reside, you choose which is convenient for you. Approval of a study permit for online applicant can be done anywhere across the different canadian embassies but your TRV will be issued in the nearest canadian embassy serving your region.Your application will have a UCI(unique Client Identifier) and application number which the Visa office and CIC agencies will use to issue official documention at anytime and place. As a matter of fact, Passport transmission accross countries are subject to territorial laws and most time forbidden. The length and time delays of transmission of passport between VFS/Courier is just the normal transit times of delivery. So bro, even though your study permit is approved in the US, your TRV will be issued in Accra,/lagos/Abuja. You really don't expect them to send your passport to the US just for this purpose. I doubt much this is feasible. 1 Like |

@folaroyal, justwise and other members of the house, kindly help me out with this. What should be the funds available for my stay on the IMM1294E? Is it the total money left after my tuition and room has been paid or the total amount I have that will cover both my tuition and apartment and to sustain myself during the study. Thanks house as I expect your response |

[quote author=abdullahi45 post=52605992]Good morning Gurus Why are most people applying for program like pdg, Pgc diploma instead of going for Msc directly and like i can see most people here are applying to Colleges instead of University... Why? Is there any reason for that or maybe i am missing an information or it is just base on personal discretion.....? Most universities do not admit students with 2.2 and below bt if u make 2.1 and above, you stand a better chance of a masters admission. Hope this helps. Best 1 Like |

You can use a sponsor if you know the person has a good inflow of funds in his account and a good balance. However you need to prove your relationship with the person to the VO 2. Schools in canada hardly issue paper letter of admission to students outisde. Which means yiu can print out that and use it to apply. 3. You should go for your police certificate before you apply and you could do your medicals upfornt if you so desire. Note: its not a guarantee to Trv approval 4. His or her statment of account. A letter showing his relationship to you or an affidavit to that effect. 3. He could also provide a letter stating how much he would be providing as well as the amount he would ve sponsoring you per month through out your stay Note: Canada expects you to have your full tution fee and at least 10000 CAD in your account in order for you to be okay financially. Having this still doesnt guarantee your Trv Only God guarantees your TRV Best Regards 2 Likes |

Hello guys. Please is anyone still waiting for trv for winter here?.. I applied through Paper Route on Oct 13 but no response till now. Its like this PGC isn't Worth it. With all sincerity, I applied for this PGC thing cos of low tuition and my interest in that particular course. Please guys I will advise that if your CGPA is good for masters, please go for it and ignore the big tuition for now cos there is always a way around finances. with PGC/D, there are chances that Visa Officer will frustrate your life for 3 to 6 months, refuse you and give you false hope in your next applications (Exemption dey for the redeemed and believers). Now, let me migrate and join the pool of masters applicants as I ask for guidance from you guys. I graduated with a CGPA of 4.13, BSc Accounting and from the information I gathered, the closest master program I can go for is either MBA or Masters in Management which requires GMAT. Please can anyone here assist me with any relevant information about any MBA or MSC Management program that does not require GMAT. To be sincere, I don't have the time and funds to waste on GMAT now. Any advice on scholarship and relevant information on MBA and MSC management will be appreciated. Now let me go back to my prayer and fasting arena as I await for a favorable response from these Accra Visa Officers. Also, I am daring dat Visa Officer to send me any rejection mail cos my case is different. It doesn't matter if am going for PGC, PGD, Masters or MBA, I can never be rejected!. 3 Likes |

AAOL: Hi You would hardly find any school that would offer you admission without a Gmat or GRE specially for the courses you mentioned. Very few schools offer Msc Management in Canada and their Msc management is research oriented. Most times these students tend to progress to PhD. In all case you will need either GRE or GMAT. Most would waive English test for you. But GRE and GMAT is compulsory. As far MBA same applies only that MBA requires you to have some years of experience which varies according to schools involved Note that MBA is professional ... you can't do PHD with MBA while Masters is Academic you can progress with that In the meantime some schools offer Msc Global or International Management .. these few schools don't demand GRE but admission is quite competitive. For most of these schools you have your classes in about 2/3 universities like the host school Canada, a school in U.K. Another in china etc. You would hav option of choosing your path. Note the expenses of traveling and accommodation is on you. But you fees covers all the universities. Regards ] |

AAOL: There is master in Accounting in some schools e.g U of Saskatchewan, Brock, York, Waterloo etc. and i dont think it require those exams. However, I think it is a professional course: expensive with less funding. Find out more yourself if you are interested. |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by AAOL: 8:42pm On Jan 08, 2017 |
Hello Osemigho. Thanks for your suggestion. Yeah.. Masters in Accounting is like an entry to CPA professional certification which I already have. I think I will just go for Msc. Global Management as suggested above. Thanks bro. |

Bro we are in same boat, tho I applied oct 10th 2016, my case if just one of a kind, and I hope for a favorable response. I have written CIC 3 times and still waiting for them. (I submitted an upfront medical that I did in November 2015 which was still valid as of the time I submitted in 2016, they sent me an update twice, 1. as medical passed, 2, another update and when checked it changed from medical passed to 'Not needed at this time' since then I havent heard from them, whether I should do another medical or not.. I havent heard anything). As you go back to the prayer and fasting mode.. please remember me too in your prayers oooo.. thanks in anticipation. By Gods grace, it shall end in praise. Amen. As for CiC.. na beg we dey beg una oooo.. this is 2017 ooooo. AAOL: |

Hello house I have cime across some post with people trying to make pgc inferior to masters and to me I really don't agree to that assertion. I think is a matter of interest and what either of the two can offer u going forward. Let me use my self as an example. I graduated with a CGPA of 4.28 in computer science, my interest was in computer security, all I get from the universities was Msc in computer science while colleges I got specifically what I'm looking for, cyber security and computer forensic my sponsor wanted an Msc but due to the fact Msc wasn't offering me what I desired, I opted for pgc and convinced my sponsor . It wasn't because of tuition, that in it self wouldn't have been an issue. But the interest is just the driving force. Trv to me is not factor of pgc pgd or Msc. Submitting what is required and pray that's all. I'm still an hopeful though but what ever the outcome I won't change for Msc.. hopefully it will be a positive outcome though.cheers. 8 Likes |

which PGD/C program is related or suited for a Geophysics graduate? tho my cgpa is 2.63. gracias friends |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by thesoj: 11:07pm On Jan 08, 2017 |
ifydio:I get your points and you are right that one could choose a PGD over a masters if it offers better post-graduation opportunities. Having said that, I'd suggest you see things from the VO's perspective: PGD admissions are sooo easy to obtain unlike masters admissions, so desperate visa applicants are likeliest to go the PGD route but not as much the masters route. Last year, a much higher fraction of PGD applicants got visa denials compared to masters applicants. Admittedly, this may be due to the possibility that PGD visa applicants are more likely to put together worse visa application documents than masters visa applicants (if we can infer from their lower CGPA and/or rush to leave Naija) OR it could be due to the likelihood that PGD applicants are more likely to pick courses that are incompatible with their prior education. To be objective, a PGD is not equivalent to a masters, a masters is a superior academic qualification. Btw, I have nothing against PGDs (I have a sibling finishing a PGD in Canada and it has served him well)... just being objective here. PS: You can study computer security in a masters program, but it would be a specialization under a computer science masters program. It also likely would be more foundational and theoretically comprehensive than what you'd get in a PGD program on computer security. 3 Likes |
