OP, edit your misleading title and stop the misrepresentation. Adeboye is not retired, he remains the active head of the church worldwide. Yesterday's arrangement was just to satisfy regulatory authority and nothing else. Absolute power, spiritual and otherwise still resides with the GO.

I think this is unfair. It appears like christianization of Lagos. Did Ambode do a Thanksgiving on Muslim's new year or if Muslims and xtians both recognize the 2017 New year, why is it a all xtian affair

As far as Redeem is concerned, when you hear from Adeboye it is as good as hearing from God. They rever him that much. I am not a christian by the way, just stating the obvious.
