I accepted my offer to study masters of public health at western Sydney university and I was told to send my sponsor's bank statement, before they'd send me my CoE. Please does anybody have an idea of how much is required to be in the account, putting into consideration also how much would have to be in it when I'm applying for visa?? Thanks

Oga b4 u pay your fees. Plz consider these
1. Is masters in public health still on sols list
2. Is the course up to 2 years
3. Can you qualify for skilled migration at pub health
4. If pfl na ur agent a lot of tinz ur being told na wash
Most of my pub health guys are running around and living in regret except those with good footings in 9ja.
Advice try bsc nursing graduate entry. Queensland university of technology. Or any sch in NSW aside Wollongong. U will thanke for this.

There is no such occupation or designation named public health. Therefore you might not see the word "Public Health" on SOL.

But public health qualifies you for a host of occupations that you'll find on SOL or CSOL mind securing PR through regions (CSOL) is way faster than Federal (SOL).

You will see occupations such as Biostatistian, Environmental health officer and some other titles on the list.

But my advise will be that you choose a school in NSW because NSW nominates more public health jobs than other regions.

People with more knowledge can educate us better sha.

Sirlovings:

Your mistake was involving an agent at the first place, you could have done it on your own. Secondly, it is better to seek advice from people who had, had experience with a particular country immigration than to allow some visa agents to handle your application.

If you had lived in the UK as a student and also have a schengen visitors visa as your comment suggests, it would have helped your application, and if you have given them enough supporting documents to show that you intend to go back before your visa runs out.
If you still plan to apply again for Aussie or NZ visa, I will be glad to help if you tell me your true intention

Good info @ Sirlovings
Keep it up sir!

@haliru and frank success

This was the same situation I was in. From my experience majority of the schools require you to apply through an agent limiting your choice of programs. Sometimes the agents will even force you to accept a program you don't want because not every agent is affiliated with all schools and certain programs are done only in some schools. Very annoying. Nothing gets done best except by you.

Haliru I was also offered mph at WSU but before making commitments my friends and senior colleagues back then in school that are in australia warned me that anything but public health. Infact a friend of mine from Ghana, writing the med exams and doing mph said mph isn't it anymore. They have removed most of the specialties eg Occu. Health and environmental health from the list. Community workers do most work public health workers do people with just diploma. Most public health jobs are done by nurses etc. Even if you continue mph through doctorate it doesn't guaranty PR.

You can go ahead if you are planning to Ace any exams and do something else as I was adviced by at least 4 persons or plan returning to naija.

Options I was given were health informatics, masters of medical sciences, above all every one suggested nursing "like if I had known kind of expression"

After hearing that I just abandoned that and moved on after all no point paying that kind of money with no financial support from the school and running pillar to post post graduation. I had to change agent again as that's the new norm. Not that I cant do it by myself it is mandatory for the schools I was interested in.

A point to note is that health professionals and even doctors not only from Nigeria do nursing via graduate entry bachelors or masters. It's the same fees as any other regular program. And it's about 1.5 to 2 years. Benefits are; you learn about the medical system, high job availability while you sort out your exams to practice, connections in the medical world and of course no worries for pr later. Because it's speculated that GP will be removed from the list this year.

Finally only God knows tomorrow. If you feel convinced then please go ahead as our destiny's are in the hands of God.

I jus learnt that WSU offers the bachelor in nursing (graduate entry) program dt u guys talked abt. Pls how easy would it be for me 2 swap to the nursing program, if I eventually decide I'd like to go for it, when I get to Australia. Thanks a lot for the info

That would be after losing money about 25k aud per year as it only starts in February. Check this school you can apply for July UNE or see if you can apply for this session. But they say the town is small because of jobs.
What's your degree? Did you apply through Goajo?
Try also ECU you won't need an agent just like UNE. These agents misguide people because of the commission they get they will tell you you can change but it's not so easy. You must pay your first semester fees before you can change course or campus as your case. I called the school then, that's why I know. But I have moved on. I just abandoned the offer.

PFL!!!!!! all of them are the same. I was roped into using them by the school after submitting an application to the schools, I was referred back to them after wasting my time.
I sent you a pm. If you can apply to ECU have all your credentials certified by the regular courts and write your statement of purpose, cv and financial sponsor bank details ready you can get an offer soonest. It's the same money whether mph, nursing etc. You may choose to call them tonight and ask if you can still apply for this February. Or ask pfl to make an application into any bachelor of nursing programs graduate entry for you in a school that responds fast. It's their job since you have paid.

depending on school and course , first semester tuition should be plus or minus 12000USD.,Depending on if you're using and agent or not , agents fee should be 150K or less, visa fee is about 440USD ,flight ticket you should get from 1000USD less ...hence N6m should be able to get it done depending on at what rates you're getting your dollars..

I guess the 15k aud or USD (not sure) for living expenses should be put into consideration . Its quite a huge sum.

The money for living expenses, do you pay it before visa application?

pls Look for schools under AL1 in ssvf , you don't need proof of funds ..but be advised that in the real sense ,you'll spend when you get there ..just call it a job and read from page one to 50 and then the last 150pages of this thread .you should be done before weekend and have all the answers to questions you've not even thought of

Fear pfl. You can not and can never down grade to BCS again once you enrolled to MSC. It statted from visa issued after 1st july 2016. I used pfl also dey got me in a mess. Any officer giving you lies there tell him one of their student want to talk to him. I will gladly talk to him bills one. Plz sort that issue out b4 you leave 9ja. So long as you have not applie for visa hope de. Something must be done. Also its mainly impossible to change grsduate entry here if you were offered and enrolled to MSC before u do it. They will keep posting u till ur fees expire and u start battling to pay new fees. Oyibo smart die. That time plus rent wahala. Work issue if you get oooo. Plus school and possibly poor grades cos you no go de concentrate. In a bid to make up you go gas out and accept ur faith. MPH is like journalism here i swear. Bros no join the band wagon of make we commot 9ja no matter how plz plan your self well. Some of us are not happy here. Plz i beg you. This CSOL stuff. You must pass the accessment and i tel you most occupation of pub health are being given priority to others like nurses and others. My bros i suggest you even call WSU you self and say you wish to do a fresh application while they hold ur pay. Even if na next year. No wahala. See if ielta be issue . Pte de.ok
Pfl hmmm fear them.
Goajo sef na me and him de here i know his house here. He lives close to Mt Druit . So i am talking from experience i at some point went to track him down cos i was in a deep soup.
Bros 1st fool no be fool. 2nd fool na proper foolish.
If u recitify it and get nursing just let me know. I will confidentially give u an agency number that recruits nursing students after 1st placement. That is to show you how much i want you not to make the mistake we made
God bless you

haliru to be frank, do what's on your mind. If money is not a problem start and change later. On applying for medical administrator, with vetassess its equivalent to a CMD or Hospital director. It's not the same as practice manager.

@franksuccess. Money na problem oh. I don't wantu start one program and later on change. My CoE haven't bin issued to me, so I can email the school and tell them that I want to change my course of study. Master of Health sciences, with specialization in health services management. The intake dates for the course at WSU are Feb and July. The tuition fees for the nursing program is higher than that of MHS. I was also told that if I'm studying nursing I might not have to time to work part time to earn money for my living expenses, because the spare time I would have, I'd have to spend it at the hospital. The occupations on SOL which I feel might be closely related to the master of health sciences (health services management) besides medical administrator are; child care centre manager, welfare centre manager and primary health organization manager. Please what do you think? Because I can tell Pfl to email the school and tell them that I want to change to the MHS program. Thanks

I must be frank with you. I know little about PR through health service management. But I think its very possible. Once you finish your MHS. You can follow it through.so long as the MHS is up to 2years. Sorry about the nursing issue. I am more detailed on that. Don't be confused Ok. MHS is not bad. Once its up to 2 years. Just get ur strategy mapped out. You may want to talk to these guys.No border migration. Just Google dem

Nice. The course is 1/1.5/2yrz but I have the option of choosing the 1.5 or 2yrz duration. My plan is to go for the 1.5yrz duration, then go for a 6months program afterwards, if need be, making it 2yrz in total that I'd spend studying in Australia. Although, I don't know if that would qualify me for the 2yrz post study visa, and if it has oda disadvantages...wah do u think?
