What exactly have you done so far? Have you uploaded your header to the theme folder of your mybb installation? If yes, then it should replace the default unless you did not name it header.png. If you didn't name it header.png, just rename it though your cpanel file manager after you must have deleted the former.

Let me know if you still have problems getting it right.

First of all, to change your header, you must know where it is located. Can you locate it on your server?

No. I never said you should re-install mybb.
