Lets Come Together As One And Unite: We Are Nigeria by nigeriawetrust1: 4:27pm On Jan 12, 2017 |
The Nigerian Amalgamation in 1914 whether accidental or deliberate has succeeded in bonding us together as a nation which to some extent has some positive and negative implication but there is nothing anybody can do, more so we are not the first this kind of thing will happen to. The issue is since this bond has taken place for over a century, it will be disservice, unhelpful for us as citizens to continue to breed discomfort and hatred amongst ourselves. We should be thinking as a nation or as citizens that could ignore their differences towards developing and taking the nation to an unimaginable height. Issues of hatred of one another couldn't solve issues rather it will degenerate our aspirations or hope of development. There is no need for pointing accusing fingers at one another, as the nation has no time, because of paucity of time, mundane and self-centred issues such as tribalism, religious differences will not transform the country to meet up with other developed nations. we must bury this stagnations thinking or elements who could not equally advance our cause as a nation even though most of these activities are politically motivated foiled by elites, but the common man in the grassroots be it any tribe will continue their business anywhere they find themselves.
We should always think positive to build this nation devoid of such kind of allegations and counter allegation for the interest of everyone one thing we forget to tell ourselves is, there is nothing anyone can do to reverse the trend. Therefore all citizens should see themselves as brothers and sisters to close ranks as a mitigating instrument that will advance our unionism. It is time to avoid criticisms and uncomplimentary comments for us to strengthen our democratic principles and act as patriotic citizens to champion a common national goal as against personal or regional goal. Citizens work as one from one country because when you go out of the shores of this country, the first question you will be asked is where are you coming from and the answer is always Nigeria not Abia, Oyo or Kano why shouldn't we behave in this spirit and take ourselves as one. God should bless us and make us know our values, identify our talents and help us to always think Nigeria. |

sorry, I'm a biafran who has lost all hope in Nigeria, i aim for a largely homogenic state of biafra where ideals are followed, Nigeria has never worked, Nigeria is not working, Nigeria would never work because it's a marriage of strange bed fellows according to awolowo,it's not a nation but "a mere geographical expression invented from the diabolical intentions of the British"according to awolowo. 3 Likes |

Awolowo the rat poison drinker who fought to keep a mere geographical expression intact. Anytime I remember that buffoon I laugh. Even Ojukwu saw in him a very funny bespectacled clown 1 Like |

Oh shut up man! Unity is not by force. Scotland was with Britain over 300 hundred years, it didnt stop them from organising a referendum and almost leaving Britain in 2014. This is the same Britain that made you a Nigerian. If the people who made Nigeria can have no problem of almost disintegrating after 300 years, it is you they made a Nigerian just 102 years ago that is making noise that you must be together? Dont make me laugh. 1 Like |

No doubt for this system called Nigeria to work, there should be a "Sit-down" by all the stake holders involved. How do you explain to the Fulani herdsmen ( for instance) that they're equal with all other Nigerians? How do you tell the Niger delta militants that that actually the government of the day also has their interest at heart? How do you explain to the Biafra proponents that it is in their best interest to relinquish their quest for independence and remain in the country? Do you tell the southwesterners that remaining in the system is better than self-determination by merely shouting "One Nigeria"? Op,anybody that tells you that the unity of this country is not negotiable and that there's no need for a round table discussion is only but an individual deep in the abyss of mischief. The country as we know it right now is in deep mess and a template for anarchy. |
