Two ways - be sponsored by family members or by an employer. You cannot get a permanent resident visa on your own.

People that said 10 days were given visas but 3weeks, 4 weeks were given blue paper.

Now i dont know if i should re apply and change duration to 10 days.
Am so sad cuz every thing i said was true and i was still denied.

I was in the very same spot you were when i got my first US visa - 19, just finishing my 4th year in college and going for a vacation on the invite of my aunt. I got the visa without much ado. But that was just a few years ago, things have certainly changed since then... and much of it has to do with Nigerians themselves. People lie blatantly at the embassy... you all claim you have ties and will return but end up never doing so. Fake documents, false reasons for traveling... i don't blame the VOs... theirs is a hard job. How can you tell who is genuine from the liars?

And your refusal isn't about you wanting to stay 3 weeks. I have never filled more than 3 weeks for any visa application. Your refusal is about lack of ties.
I gave you a VERY subtle hint a while ago. You are 19, not married, no job. You are not travelling for a life and death matter.
I know a 25 year old who's going to do his ist degree. So at 19 , one can easily a) get another admission or b) get married.
Do not bother reappplying. The outcome will not be different.

After filling out the ds160 and making the necessary payment for visa application fee,do i have to schedule an appointment to use the drop box or i should just send the ds160confirmation page , visa payment receipt and int'l passport and supporting doument through designated dhl. thanks

Are you the primary applicant? If yes; you'll have to add your dependent (daughter) when scheduling your appointment. Follow the instruction from where you'll see "Add by name" click and add your dependent. Both of you will be interviewed as family.

Just fill and be done with your DS160 stuff, then attempt to follow the interview scheduling thing, answer the questions as they come, if your answers qualifies you for dropbox the system will generate a Dropbox Confirmation slip for you and allow you input the receipt number for a non-existent interview. Print the slip and your DS160 confirmation page, take these along with your international passport and passport size photograph to the DHL office you chose and submit for onward transmission to the US Embassy. Once your visa is ready you will be notified to pick up from DHL, just as you may also be asked to come in for an interview.

N.B.
Don't forget to change the old DS160 number to the current one in your profile as you do all of these o

Please o! What is receipt number? I paid the visa fee today at GTB and was given transaction reference but there was no "AA" but on the website it says it should begin with the AA and 8 digit code.

Is receipt number different?

Apparently, this is not your first time applying for a US visa. How did you schedule an appointment without entering your DS-160 Number? This can only be possible if you've already created and updated your profile. Perhaps you carelessly proceeded using the old DS-160 number you have in your profile without editing it to the current one which is only possible when you start a new application.

Each time you start an application, a new DS-160 number will be generated to you, therefore the DS-160 number on the appointment confirmation must be the same with what you have on the application confirmation otherwise you'll not be admitted to the consulate/embassy for the interview.

If you've already schedule an appointment using the old DS-160 number; it can only be edited by GCI.
