dossylvanus: I don't really know, but think they are a step closer, since most people are under review, so being assessed can be an advantage |
Re: 2016/2017 Chevening Scholarship Applicants. by pappiloo: 2:50pm On Jan 16, 2017 |
Well, from the past posts and also from the literal meaning of both then we can say it is only after they have assess your application that they can review it. So for those under assess, they are still on the first reading while review can be the second reading. We all know chevening will try as much as possible to assess and review all applications so as for them to only invite the exceptional applications and stream down the numbers of interviewees. Let just keep the hope up and pray on it. The best will surely be our own. In a month time, the interview invitations will be out. As per last year, following their posts, i think they started sending people regret mail right from January, lets hope our own won't be of such. Happy week ahead. 1 Like |

No, haven't seen any on this forum. I have come across some though on Facebook. Their status changed to being reviewed by the local embassy and then re-changed to being assessed. January is almost over now. Only thing left now is to see if we make it for the interviews or not. |

Men people dey try o... observing when it changes from asses to review to asses to review by local embassy!! People are trying! Let's just hope and pray that our best is good enough and by February we all would be called for interview. I know it's not necessary but I just got this gut feeling that it wouldn't hurt to have your IELTS or TOEFL or PTE ready as well as your admissions ready and uploaded to your application. I know it's not necessary for now as stated on chevening's platform but personally I feel it reflects seriousness/readiness to study. All the best y'all.. Break a leg this week. 1 Like |

donasere: LOL. I have six admission letters. None for Chevening. My first choice uni bounce me. Maybe because I didn't apply through a consultant... Whatever. Uni of Liverpool since November last year still waiting for decision. Meanwhile I have gotten from Aberdeen, Reading, Sheffield-Hallam, London School of Economics, Durham, Bristol and Aberystwyth University. None of them na Chevening. Anyway I am also applying for the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme. So any one wey fall in I'm game. |

Re: 2016/2017 Chevening Scholarship Applicants. by dossylvanus(m): 9:15pm On Jan 16, 2017 |
jorion: My guy I've learnt my lesson. If you need to apply to any UK school kindly do so through a representative. Saves you the stress. Anyway I applied through UKEAS, and will be writing the PTE Academic test if I am nominated for any of the Scholarships I applied for. The University of Aberdeen will normally require two academic references on letterheaded paper. If it's not on letterhead then it should be signed. Again please apply through a recognized educational consultant. They reply them faster. |

dossylvanus: I think Aberdeen falls under chevening na.. why not try Manchester or Leeds... All these unis gahz give u scholarship ooo...anyhow dem wan do am! dossylvanus: I weak for this your post ooo... got my admission for Aberdeen in about 3weeks... Dint even send them references. Heriot-Watt on the other hand took about 2months coz I applied early for 2017/18 while they were still working on 2016/17. They even sent me mails to apologize for the delay. They later gave me an offer with reference conditions doe. University of manchester was the slowest or rather I wasn't serious with them. Dint tidy up applications quickly plus dint send them reference and proof of english proficiency for about 3months (Sept. - Nov.). They kept mailing me to know if I was still interested. Sent it in the long run and got an unconditional offer within 48hrs. And I dint use a consultant. 1 Like |

Okay Dmasked1, i just got info that been assessed and been review are almost the same thing, that is, it doesn't really mean anything yet, they are both under process, so guys, don't panic or disturb yourself too much. I guess soon it will change from been review to being review by local embassy and it may change to another thing, but all the same, from the last year experience and post (if you go through links 8-12 of this same trend which is this period of Jan ending to February) you will see people with different status been invited for interview. My advice to us all is to gather our requirements though its not compulsory for now but i think it may be an advantage. Apply to your institutions on time, you will see people who have applied to three institutions but was turned down in two and still expecting response from the third one even after 3 months of applying. Sit for your IELTS exam on time and make your result...because even though IELTS is easy, any thing can still happen(probably missing the exam, sickness or even getting less than the requirement but if you apply on time, you will have opportunity to reapply). All the best guys 3 Likes |

dossylvanus: heard bout the Mastercard foundation scholarship.. seems most partner schools are either in the US or Canada. Hope the scholarship is not course restricted sha? Dem no fit turn down UKEAS na... that one go give ur application level for their eye. |
Re: 2016/2017 Chevening Scholarship Applicants. by dossylvanus(m): 10:47am On Jan 17, 2017 |
donasere: Yh. Most of their partner schools are in North America. But University of Edinburgh just partnered with them in 2016. That's why I'm disturbing myself. Mastercard gives you money for English language tests sef. |
