MMM is a crowd funding system and remember no crowd funding platform can be sustainable without constant inflow of cash from members. MMM went into dormancy after freezing account of its members because more people requested to get help than people providing help into the system during the festive period in December 2016. MMM has come back into operations but it has great tendency of crashing finally because of the following reasons:

1. You are allowed to provide help below your last pledge in MMM which means that someone can provide help of N1m and after 30 days, he/she receives help of N1.3m plus but the next month, he reduces his pledge and provide help of N20k. This totally unbalances any crowd funding system, because there wouldn’t be anyone with substantial fund in the system to match those that contributed to pay the N1.3m.

2. There are too many Guiders/Sponsors in MMM. These Guiders are one of the major problems of MMM platforms which have experienced crisis in other countries. The reason is because guiders drain the system, collecting millions of naira without contributing to the system and MMM supports the excess payout privileges of Guiders.

3. MMM does not terminate accounts of members who failed to provide help after getting help, thereby permitting such people to enjoy referral bonus every week without providing any help which is terribly bad for any crowd funding system.

4. In addition, a lot of smart Nigerians have lost trust in MMM which has resulted into depletion of members who must provide help to those whose money are still within the MMM system. Remember no crowd funding platform can survive without constant inflow of cash from members.

5. In conclusion, a lot of Smart Nigerians are exploring other crowd funding systems that has been operating smoothly without hitches.
