But i wont take the blame for that...bcoz its not my fault. |

Truth be told. Ikwerres are igbos. They maybe too shy to openly admit it after what they did (or were forced to do) after the civil war. Yes, they have their own igbo dialect, but so do every igbo clan/subgroup in the southeast. There is no language in the world that doesn't have dialects. The ikwerre is a dialect of Igbo language. It is no big deal if they add 'R' prefix to most of their words as some of my southeast igbo brethren are fuming about. Infact, they have every right to do that as that is their own dialect. The ngwa/ukwa man from abia state tend to remove the 'N' prefix from most of their words such that they bear 'Wogu' instead of 'Nwogu', 'Wabara' instead of 'Nwabara' etc,. But that doesn't make them any less igbo. So why should the ikwerre case be different? I think this misunderstanding is coming more from some of us in the southeast who don't want to appreciate the uniqueness of the ikwerre dialect and have used it as a pretext to launch unwarranted attacks on them which is now backfiring. 7 Likes |

nonsobaba:Some Ikwerre don't have problem identifying with the Igbos, but the distrust is too deep, when it comes to political matters.I once had an argument with an Ikwerre man, on the need for alignment.... he made it clear to me that the Igbos are politically naive....., and so the need for the Ikwerres to be on their own. We are not helping matters either. I think we need to understand this people properly before we extend any hand of brotherhood, otherwise, we'll keep hitting our head on a tick brick wall. No doubt, Ikwerre is an Igboid tribe. 3 Likes 1 Share |

If we are to go strictly based on Ikwerre people definition of their ethnic group, then Igbo will not exist anymore. Igbos as an ethnic group will become extinct because every clan in Igboland will claim that they are a different tribe since they all have different dialects. 1 Like |

giftedben: Mumu what properties do the Igbos have in Nigeria or across the globe. How much does your father have in his bank account ? Which of the major tribe of Yoruba n Hausa is there Igbo doing better than ? Tell your gang of fools that want to read about your chest beating about local weapon Igbo fought the war with. History is there for sensible human to know how much weapon France dropped off to Ojukwu. Did you read about how he preferred more ammunition to food when millions of his kinsmen were dying of starvation ?. Only God will give you grace n insight to stop having lunatics as leader in the East. With all your sophistication n blessing you claim you got from God as Jews it is a handful of unlearned Aboki that nearly wiped out your entire tribe on your home turf O. What institutions did you claim Ojukwu graduated from in the UK again. Oloriburuku loud mouthed dimwit. 1 Like |

Ballmer: Yoruba as usual. Mouth action tribe. Awolowo & Soyinka are Cowards. one committed suicide by drinking rat poison and the other is already a mentally deranged person whom could not fulfill a simple task by tearing his green card. These are the most intelligent she-men yoruba could boost of. Mumu have you returned to ketu mile 12, i heard is now aboki territory. 2 Likes |

Noneroone: What is the acceptable definition of indigenous peoples of Port-Harcourt? Do you have a register of all the indigenous peoples of Port-Harcourt? |
Re: Ipob Rally: Who Owns Port Harcourt?- Niger Delta Voice Perspective by oyatz(m): 8:45am On Feb 02, 2022 |
Noneroone: There was no city in Port-Harcourt before the Colonial Government created the city in 1913 and named it Port-Harcourt. However Ikwerre village of Diobu was already existing close by and the elders of Ikwerre granted the British the approval to build a port on their land. The city had however enlarged into Ijaw and other Ikwerre Territories. Igwe-Ocha is the term used by Igbos to refer to the city which came about in the 1920s years after the port was built. If you think any city named Igwe-Ocha existed before 1913, please name the kings/Administrators/Warrant Chiefs of that city. Name the traditional institutions of the city, it's boundaries and treaties signed with her neighbours. 1 Like |

explorer250:No local will call it Igweocha There is no community in Port Harcourt /Rebisi or Obio-Akpor that does not have a name. Every district has a name and there is NOTHING like Igweocha Also there is nothing like obigbo it is Oyigbo Only external intruders will insist on Obigbo |
Re: Ipob Rally: Who Owns Port Harcourt?- Niger Delta Voice Perspective by aribisala0(m): 8:53am On Feb 02, 2022 |
cheruv:Port Harcourt is not entirely Ikwerre . Let us not forget that a lot of what we call Port Harcourt today is Obio-Akpor and not really Port harcourt Isaka, Abuloma and Borokiri e.g are not Ikwerre territory |
Re: Ipob Rally: Who Owns Port Harcourt?- Niger Delta Voice Perspective by gidgiddy: 8:54am On Feb 02, 2022 |
aribisala0: The original name of the land on which Portharcourt started as a city before expanding to include other areas was called "Igu-ocha', which many now misspell as 'Igwe-ocha'. Thats why may Ikwerres still refer to Portharcourt by that name Also, there was no place called "Oyigbo" until 1976 when Obigbo was cut out of Imo State, added to Rivers State, and renamed Oyigbo |
