I know a former colleague who made 5m from the scheme, another 1m, another 800k, a friend and his business partner made 1m but i don't count it as a gain as they still have funds in there. the unfortunate ones are my brother whose 2m is trapped in the system, my roommate back then in school who had just joined and provided help 0f 600k a day before freezing of mavros, his cousin who also provided help of 800k a day before freezing of mavros.

I was against MMM at first but I found out that I spent money a lot and instead of that, why not just save it somewhere and get profit at the end of the month. I decided to provide help 3rd week of Nov and was expecting to withdraw at the end of December .... Well, you know the rest... still waiting

This explanation is to demonstrate, not to those who know that Ponzi schemes are fraudulent, and attempt to cash out before its inevitable collapse (leaving later participants to lose everything), but to those who actually believe such a system is sustainable. In this very simplistic example, there are no referral bonuses, no one running away and stealing money from the system, no "media or government interference" affecting victim participant confidence.

Most Ponzi schemes pretend to invest in some odd commodity, to give a plausible reason to investors for the growth of their investments. But in reality, the only monetary input comes from new investors. For this reason, it is IMPOSSIBLE to sustain indefinitely, as there is a FINITE number of humans on this planet. Even if newborn babies were recruited into the scheme as they were being born, the exponential growth of the debt incurred by paying old investors with the investments of new investors is impossible to keep up with.

Apart from Chuddy and the other guiders , and some early birds, no one's poverty was greatly reduced. After it has crashed today, it will create more poverty because a lot of people will be loosing millions.
