Eo24: Please do share the list of the documents you submitted so that the gurus in the house can discern what went wrong. Further to the above, have you applied for your gcms notes ? If not try to do that in order to have an in-depth comprehension of the VOs thought about your application. Sorry about the refusal. |

Dear Guru, your professional view is needed here. I intend to apply for my study permit next month using self sponsor. Presently my SOA is with inflow of 5m and outflow of 2m and my present bal is 3m plus sha.Although, I can boost it up to 9m by that next month ending before applying. My question is: After building it up to 9m by next month won't I be questioned on source of fund? Although I am working but my total yearly income is like 2.8m. Or what can I claim as other source of income. Would 9m be ok as my school said I should budgeted for 22,000 CAD for a year which includes tuition, accommodation, and the personal exp For a year. Thank you. |

efosases: It certainly means that your application has been reviewed and decision made. The outcome of the decision is what is unknown. However, we can make a calculated guess. Have you been summoned to undergo medical examination? Or did you submit upfront medical? If so, then there's 50% chance that your application has been approved or a 50% chance of the otherwise. If you have not been called for medicals and you didn't submit upfront medicals,,....then the chances of refusal is 100%. Except your stay in Canada is less than 6 months Or that you haven't stayed in Nigeria for up to 6 months preceeding your application. Go get your documents and be positive. |

Would 9m be ok as my school said I should budgeted for 22,000 CAD for a year which includes tuition, accommodation, and the personal exp For a year.I will advise you do the conversion of the 9m TO CAD and see what it amount to. honeyscottage: Your source of income is certainly a very obvious question. Do you have rental properties? Stocks or do have property that can be liquidated to cash ? Unless you claim the money in your account was transferred to you by a sponsor...that way you wouldn't need to stress your self about the source of the funds in your account. Note however that your sponsor would have to provide you with necessary documents. The money you claimed he transferred to your account will now serve as a form of commitment. The amount your school ask you to budget is immaterial...How much is your tuition fees? Add your tuition fees with the 10k cad required by cic rules for living expenses, the total is your cost of study. All these calculations should be done with the background that you're only required to show proof of funds for the 1st year of study and not the entire duration of study. However a VO may want to see the probability of future financial support to continue your program. Now when you add all these together for the first year....the total amount gotten should be converted to naira. The sum in naira will determine if 9m is enough. 1 Like |

Rfactor: While I started to look for supervisors in my various applications I found out that if you just mail the professor's and tell them what you think they want to hear, 9/10 will not reply... I got this from a PhD student in uottawa, when approaching a potential supervisor be very straight to the point, tell them why you are mailing them and why you think they'd be a good fit for your thesis, and why you'd be a good fit for their research interests. Not just telling them, send a copy of your CV, your research proposal, and also a copy of previous works, pls make sure they are not too bulky, many may not answer, a few will tell you that you can mention their names in your application and a few MAY even give you pointers on how to come up with a better proposal that would be catchy and interesting enough for someone to want to take you on. They are people who are usually very busy so if your mail doesn't go straight to the point, more often than not your mail is sent to the trash.... Prayer is also key sooooo Some are just downright uninterested 1 Like 1 Share |

telvinfantasy: I'll only advise based on everyone's opinions and views please keep in mind I'm waiting on admission from my unis. Using an agent has on this thread as mentioned by victims more often than not proved to be of no better value than doing it yourself. My advise to you, go through the first page of this thread and view the things that you need to know. And from there ask questions where you are unclear and do this yourself or better still pay @michv the *trv doctor* and I'm sure he'd help you out in a big way LOL..... I just don't see the need for an agent seeing as mst of us on this thread are a lot more knowledgeable about the ins and outs eveb better than the so called agents.....sorry to any agent in the room, just speaking from other peoples observations.... It is wel |
