Ikorodu is a much better option.. the development over the years in Ikorodu cannot be overemphasized.. there's a working and effective BRT system there... Electricity is constant... The Lagos state govt has got a bright future for Ikorodu.

MOWE on the other hand is a no go area. the roads are bad... Electricity there is very poor.. The Ogun state govt has got no future for MOWE..... to be frank with you MOWE is a forgotten area...

Like u stated, the PROBLEM with MOWE is The OGUN state GOVERNMENT, the man at the summit of government there CARE LESS about Mowe/ibafo

In 2010 when I wanted to acquire a land, getting to ikorodu is always an ordeal. The hold up dioesnot have part 2. I therefore got one on mowe ofada road. As it is now, however it is the opposite. The Lagos Ibadan expressway is always in the news for only one reason, hold up. Power is also terrible along the axis. With the level of development and the future prospects of ikorodu axis we hear everyday, would it be wise to sell off the land and get something in ikorodu (ikorodu is now also very expensive), is there any hope of things getting better along Lagos Ibadan expressway.....

Of course yes, he used that market area when he went to Ibafo, the people gave him their votes too (they must be regretting that now), yet nothing tangible to show for the support they gave him.

I once rented a flat over there, I had to pack out later on, I have never in my entire life stayed in such and area (before and after leaving there) in my entire life with such BAD road and lack of Electricity sad. I was on petrol gen all through!!!

If ambode can be making plans to develop ikorodu, to buttress that, there's a model in place to show how committed ambode's govt is to developing ikorodu... Ikorodu does not sleep, by ferry, u can get to the island in minutes, brt buses in ikorodu are with a.c, that's the only time you think nigerians are in developed countries. Lol...make your choice, many nigerian politicians have assests in ikorodu but they won't tell you.

Op, do not dispose any.
These properties appreciate daily.Just build like 2 to 4 room and parlour self contain depending on your financial strength , put them on rent and live close to your office by renting a good apartment. Then use your rent to pay off for the place you live. Many Lagosians make the costly mistake of moving to their personal house in these outskirts and start suffering themselves, their wives, children and also the extended family members. You can build 3 or 4 bedroom flat too, rent all out, when you retire, you çan easily move to your house then. Then as for the security aspect, I believe you know the difference.Lagos is safer, I do want to go into details, though we are all under God protection.

Imagine moving from Gbagada to Ikorodu, after Agric , or that Egbi power station area because you have finish your 3 bedroom flat there, and your office is on the island by VI or Ikoyi. In Gbagada, once you come out, you will face third manland, easy route. Now from those areas of ikorodu, you will start battling hold up and very rude and aggressive nature of Lagos danfo drivers everyday, change your children schools, if Madam is working on the island, both of you will be facing the stress daily. Before you get to the office, you are already stressed up, it doesnt matter if you drive or join BRT.That is serious suffering, all because"i want to live in my house". Does it worth it?Na die the person dey so, small small. Those stress will build up over time.

But once, 4th mainland bridge is built, ikorodu dwellers will enjoy workingon the island.
Talking about Mowe, please never compare Lagos to Ogun state. I keep asking myself why can't successive government of Ogun state leverage on their proximity to Lagos to turn their state around? Go to Sango, Ajegunle, Toll gate, Agbado, Isheri, Lambe, Agbado crossing, etc these are boundary communities of Lagos and Ogun, but those areas are like one ancient village.

Do not let anyone deceive you to buy land in those areas, that it will be like Lagos in 2 to 3 years, it is a lie. The change there is very slow. It is better to look for an old house to buy in Agege, Oko oba, Abule Egba, Iyana ipaja and demolish it and build your house than going to those boundary areas.i am taking from experience. Lagos is Lagos, but if you already gotten somewhere in Mowe, build and rent it out.Always put Ikorodu ahead of Mowe.

Disposing your property is a wrong idea, but renting it out and getting a rented apartment closer to your place at work is welcome, your family can still manage a bedroom apartment knowing you have a future and who tell you, you can get another property in ikorodu! Bug if you are talking of rented property in mowe, you are free to move anywhere but never dispose what you worked hard for anywhere, you can always start afresh to build another one.

OP: if you can afford it, leave the mowe property and get one in ikorodu. Don't trust all you read online. I stayed more than 5 yrs in ikorodu. Any one who says contrary hasn't been to ikorodu in the pasy 2 yrs or so. The amount of infrastructure there right now is better than you can get on mowe axis for years to come. It's obvious ogun state government has no plans for move, ibafo axi which shows it would take awhile for meaningful development to reach the area. Take a drive around ikorodu and see the massive influx of people in there. The road network is much better. Ferry services are avialable. Like someone mentioned, there is crime everywhere in Lagos. Also, note crime in ikorodu is restricted to some particular zones. Avoid those zones if you can. Ikorodu is quite big. Some area are as good as lekki. Some aren't. I'd advice you take a Sunday morning drive when the roads are free. Go int through ebute and drive around. Ikorodu is a lovely place...

Mowe is better than Ogijo and some part of Ikorodu .... Mowe to Ikeja is just #100 to #150 naira and you can spend #400 to get to Ikeja from ikorodu
