Ogun state govt has no plans for mowe. They have this opinion that peeps living in mowe work in Lagos and pay their tax in Lagos so no need to build good roads for them. They tried once to implement a policy that allows peels pay their tax in their state of resident but the thing no work so they abandoned mowe.

Mowe is better than Ogijo and some part of Ikorodu .... Mowe to Ikeja is just #100 to #150 naira and you can spend #400 to get to Ikeja from ikorodu

This is not true. Am sure u don't go to ikorodu. Ikorodu to mariland/ojota is N120 and N50 from there to ikeja. That's just N170.

In 2010 when I wanted to acquire a land, getting to ikorodu is always an ordeal. The hold up dioesnot have part 2. I therefore got one on mowe ofada road. As it is now, however it is the opposite. The Lagos Ibadan expressway is always in the news for only one reason, hold up. Power is also terrible along the axis. With the level of development and the future prospects of ikorodu axis we hear everyday, would it be wise to sell off the land and get something in ikorodu (ikorodu is now also very expensive), is there any hope of things getting better along Lagos Ibadan expressway.....
sell it!

Guy with all the badoo news and one million boys.....you are on your own. Besides the road expansion on the ibadan expressway will soon be over and ease traffic and mowe seems to have better planned estates than ikorodu.

Like u stated, the PROBLEM with MOWE is The OGUN state GOVERNMENT, the man at the summit of government there CARE LESS about Mowe/ibafo
You expect a Government that does not care about Agbara where Ogun State make 95% of his IGR to care about Mowe that is generating nothing in terms of revenue.

Pls how much is the ferry?
laudate:
Ikorodu is now far better than Mowe, from what I have heard. There is a BRT bus service that can take you straight from Ikorodu to the Lagos Island, and if you are really scared about the traffic, there is a ferry service daily from Ikorodu to CMS/Ebute Ero on the Island. undecided
Power supply is also more stable in Ikorodu than Mowe, because of the Egbin power station that is located in that axis.

The Lagos State Govt is planning to expand the Ikorodu Epe road to 6 lanes... This wld benefit both Ikorodu and mowe pple... You don't need to dispose, instead think of acquiring another...

High cost of building this days shd be considered.. Goodluck

But ikorodu has the highest number of crimes in Lagos. Do your research
My thought exactly...Heinous crimes infact. I stay in ikorodu and i cant wait to leave. Apart from that, even with the new BRT system in place, there is still always traffic jam whether morning, afternoon or night.

Where in ikorodu do you stay? And what traffic are u talking about? Aside the overcrowding in the BRT terminal, i haven't experienced the so called traffic in ikorodu.

Oga sir. I ask too, where in Ikorodu do you stay that you cant wait to leave. If u're the Landlord pls put ur property on sale here and be amazed the rush on it. Ikorodu is very peaceful, lovely atmosphere, homely environment, lesser traffic(predictable), proximity to outside lagos for travellers, options of other traffic means. E.t.c
Ikorodu is home for all....

The Brt doesnt go to Oshodi...do they? We still have to take the public transport to such places and there is always traffic jam on the way. The overcrowding at the BRT terminal isn't encouraging also.

BTW,i stay in Jumofak.

Since 2010 you bought the land, you have not developed it and you are asking for Ikorodu. You better develop the one you have before your name turns to SORRY

I'm telling you.. I hv lived in MOWE for over 10yrs.. And I must confess.. MOWE is just an "underdeveloped" area.... the Ogun state govt just like u said doesn't care bout the place.. Ikorodu is by far better.. if not a million times better.
Oga I remove cap for u o! So u have been running generator there for the past 10 years, your pockets must be really very deep, in other news I heard some rumors that light has now come to mowe area, how true is it?

I heard from a reliable source that the roads are okay now, but I'm concerned about the crime rate.

Have resided in Ikorodu before, like years back. The way to handle crime rate is this. Don't invite people on your street or around the environs to your house. Your friends must come from outside Ikorodu. Don't make new intimate friends there either guys or ladies. Simply hi, hello, good morning, good evening on the street is better and safe. Always find an excuse not 2 allow any around come into your apartment, even church members if u decide to worship in church or mosque around the area, please don't entertain fellowship or allow anyone visit u, except your church members from outside Ikorodu. so none will know what u have stocked in there.
2ndly don't ever talk about money or how profitable your work or business is to anyone. Keep such information very private.
3rdly no one must know u are heading to the bank or u just came. Back from the bank or ATM . No one, I repeat no one.
4thly avoid late night crawling
5thly don't brag about how good u are living life and how comfortable u made your home for your family, it's very risky saying such especially to new friends and neighbors there. Your wife and kids should not brag or talk too much how u guys live at home.
6thly get a maiguard, Hausa to be precise. They are very committed to security.
7thly always watch your back when leaving the bank.. Don't head home straight if that's what u intend to do afterwards.. Make a divert and simply head to your office environment or a public place. Stay for there for a while before going home.

If u can keep to this tips.. U and family are as good as safe.

Am saying all these through experience of what I saw and witnessed there. It's better to be safe than to be sorry.
God help us all amen

My advice for u is to rent out your Mowe property, and rent an apartment in Ikorodu before then as time goes on u can now acquire ur own property in Ikorodu. I moved from oworoshoki to Ikorodu, I work in VI and today I have no regression. It took me 6months before this final decision. Pls do proper consultation before your final decision. Kind regards

Stay put in mowe for security reasons, ikorodu is no go area for me anyway
mr
Ikorodu is far better compare to Mowe
Light, ikorodu is better
Transportation, Ik is better

The security issue you are talking about is not as bad as you people are talking about
The same thing happen everywhere in Nigeria
If the security issue is that bad, people will not start their moving as early as 4am

Incase you don't know
The development in (and coming) in Ik now will soon make it one of the best place in lagos

And to OP
Just as you said, IK is more expensive now and the place will be more expensive when things are fully fixed
