Late last year, the CBN warned Nigerians against the popular ponzi scheme-MMM. Few months after, many participants of the scheme have their funds hanged in the scheme. As it stands, the scheme may not resurrect.

We should also remember that the scheme discussed about the use of Bitcoin in its transaction and this has also raised some eyebrows as to their intentions. The CBN is now raising an alarm warning people against the world's real and genuine cryptocurrency- Bitcoin.

We all know that Bitcoin, though might be a genuine cryptocurrency, many Nigerians are still not familiar with it and some are even duped by scam dealers. Apart from this, Bitcoin is now the main source of many Ponzi schemes which are now in their tens.

Will the CBN ban Bitcoin in Nigeria to tame more loses and even arrest major Bitcoin dealers in Nigeria?.

Now that MMM is in the dark, is Bitcoin the next?

Ban bitcoin? That's forking preposterous.

I can see clearly that some mooncalves agenda is to take us back to stone age.

If you're still in the dark about bitcoin please check it out on wikipedia or google it. It's 100% genuine more than the promises of a failed government and her cohorts.

Bitcoin made me a boss!

But watch out for HYIP, 99.9% of them are scammers/don't last.

Beware of:
¤The Billion Coin (TBC)
¤Pay Coin
¤One Coin.

Well, you all need to understand that bitcoin is not illegal , if you dont know much about it, find out first. Although it may be the most patronized cryptocurrency worldwide by illegal dealers because its untraceable, irreversible, unblockable and 100% trusted, that doesnt mean people doesnt use it legally too.

try getting to blockchain.info frontpage and see bitcoin transactions per second.

you can imagine the rest yourself..

To me, i feel mmm devised this medium because they are on the verge of moving permanently with MMM participants money without traces or disturbances or annonymously.

The earlier we educate people about ponzi schemes, the better because there are too manu gullible people out there.

I hope they listen. We told them before they crash-landed with MMM, all we got in return were curses. Now it's bitcoin, those who ears let them hear!

Bitcoin has nothing to do with MMM.
Most government institutions have keyed into the bitcoin technology even companies like Microsoft have started accepting bitcoin forms of payments.

Mavrodi is just using bitcoin to complete his scam.

useless article.
Edit: CBN + BITCOIN.MMM
I believe MMM is mentioned to pull traffic otherwise the article if worth the read should do the magic. There's no excuse for ignorance if our people are too dull to read and learn about what they are signing up for then too bad. On the other hand our government ( CBN ) are hmmm i would say less busy

I'm tired of Nigerians, Nigeria, CBN, and our everything Nigeria.

What's up now?

The FG came for MMM, that's understandable.

Now Bitcoin? Really?

It's like saying Nigerians should be careful with the dollar.

With the way the FG is creating fear and panic in the heart of Nigerians, I don't think they are helping them key into opportunities.

Why is China not sounding warning against Btc? Over 70% of Btc is mined in that country. OP, hope you know?

Abeg, CBN should work to revive the naira and stop chasing the air.

And for Nairaland, I don't know what to say. Keeping promoting rubbish with the aim of generating traffic. Like say $eun no dey deal with Bitcoin.

Similar to religion, my Nigerians keep swallowing what the media feeds them. Zombies! Don't we have heads to think? What's Google meant for if not to verify useless claims like this?

*WHAT IS BITCOIN?*

*Bitcoin* is a *cryptocurrency* ( *_add that new word to your dictionary_*) or an electronic money that commands the highest value in the world. It's a globally recognised currency and can be converted to any country's currency. That means you can change Bitcoin to Naira, pounds,
dollars, Kes, JPY, Zar, CAD etc...

It doesn't belong to a country, so no *Central Bank* can freeze it. You cannot touch or feel it like other paper currencies... It's only seen in figure
mode, just like Kenyan Mpesa.

In Nigeria today, car dealers are already accepting Bitcoin as a means of payment for cars, and there's already a debit card for Bitcoin. Some decades ago people were asking what is email? What is Internet? But today everyone now knows what Email and Internet is.

Many people now are asking what is Bitcoin? But in few years to come, everyone will know what Bitcoin is all about. We hope that when that time comes you'll  be Bitcoin rich.

*_Bitcoin is simply the future of currency_*.

1 Bitcoin as of today is just about 860$

The issues with CbN is mediocrity, they simply dont understand bitcoins and what they dont understand they condemn, their guess on MmmNigeria was a wild guess that kinda clicked but they should take several seats back wards and research on the revolutionary ways bitcoins will change the face of ecurrency worldwide.
