Please I'm trying to understand your ordeal. Since you said you traveled in October for vacation as stated during your interview, I don't think she will have an issue if she travels again for childbirth in February. Did your wife stay back after the vacation to have the baby? If the answer is "yes", then she may have issues during visa renewal.

FabioRomani:

My wife and I were issued a b1/b2 visa in May 2016. However my wife discovered that she was some weeks pregnant (about 2 or 3 weeks, not too sure) after the visa had been issued. She honestly didn't know she was pregnant during the interview because she was asked if she was pregnant and she said no.

We travelled to the U.S for vacation in October last year which was the original reason why we applied for the visa. We later decided to have our baby in the U.S since we can afford it.

While at the port of entry, she was asked about her EDD by the CBP officer. She told the officer the truth that her EDD is in February this year, and that she did not know she was pregnant during the visa interview.

If you do the calculation, you will discover that it's exactly 9 months from when the visa was issued. If she had known she was pregnant, she would have disclosed it during the visa interview because we know that V.Os usually find out when people are lieing.

However, while at the POE, the CBP officer said that she lied during her interview because her expected delivery date is in february hence she was already pregnant during the interview. He was so mean and used so many harsh words. He kept saying that she lied. She was later taken to the immigration unit for some further questioning and eventually they allowed her to enter the U.S.

I am unhappy because the CBP officer said she lied; it's not everyone that tell lies.

But we are worried that this incident may affect her while renewing her visa, because he kept saying that she lied

Please advice if it can affect her visa renewal, because she honestly didn't know she was pregnant during the interview.

Please I need urgent response.

Regards.

Hello community. I need your help to know if I can enter the united states knowing that I have not paid the entire hospital bill (15000 dollars).

Please use the visa for vacation/tourism as stated during your interview, before you travel for childbirth.

Good Morning Everyone,
I discovered this thread this year and the info here has truly been helpful.
I have a B1/B2 tourist visa which was issued Sept 2016 but i couldn't travel due to work-related issues, my PoE was NY. Got pregnant in December and thinking of giving birth there. A friend of mine recommended Oakbend, Dr F.
@justwise, i will send a letter of intent later in the year just to let them know about change of PoE (hope i am on the right track)
@Debby, can i pm you please for more details on Oakbend and Dr. Z?

Yes you can! However, you need to prove that you have the money to pay for your bill at the POE. Carry cash and your dollar cards.

My understanding of calculation of gestation weeks by the airline is 35 weeks 1 day = 36 weeks, 34 weeks 4 days = 35 weeks. I flew with Emirates and i went at 34 weeks plus to fall within the 36 weeks cut off period.
sehawale:
pls DW wants to fly Turkish airlines @ 35wks,5days. Their policy says pregnant women expecting one baby is not allowed to fly (even with FIT TO FLY CERT) after 35wks.

Does this mean she can fly so far she has not clocked 36wks or she cannot fly even if she is just 35wks, 1day?

Please anyone with first hand experience should tell me.

I called their customer care line and also went to their VI Lagos office but their officers that attended to me gave contradictory answers when I painted the scenarios above, leaving me more confused.

One of them said I should go to the airport to confirm but i want to see if anyone here can help from experience here before I travel to the mainland from the Island.

Weigh your options, you re likely to have a weekly appointment with the doctor, depending on how many weeks you get into town. Other factors your consider is your shopping etc. My apartment was across Oakbend in Richmond and i was seeing Dr. Z in his clinic at Katy, like 30mins away weekly, but I wasn't paying for transportation cos it was part of my package. My apartment wasnt far to the malls i needed to go for baby things shopping and groceries, less than $10. Except u re a FTM, even at dat, u'll ve observed labour signs, we don't pray for emergency but if u re in naija, u'll sha still get someone ro drive you to the hosp and nt call ambulance. I'm not sure there is actually some thing called 'correspondence letter'. You should try to connect with the hospital/doctor via email. You can call at first, introduce yourself and state your mission. Then ask for them to send their price list/self pay package doc via email or put whatever you discussed on the phone in writing and send to you via email. From there you continue the discussion via email, thereby creating an email thread between you and them. Print out the thread and take to the embassy for your interview. This was what I did and used for Poe. In fact that was the only thing the CBP officer checked and he said it was enough for him.

U mean u used dat for your visa interview at d embassy?
Good luck!

Hi everyone, please I am new here and i have a few questions to ask...my family was issued a US visa early 2014 and when the visa was issued I wasn't pregnant, I had scan results that proved i wasnt...in mid 2015 I went to the US to give birth. In 2016 we decided to do a drop box to renew our visas but we were called to appear for another interview explaining why I stayed almost 3mnths. myself n my husband appeared and I told the VO I had a baby and the VO did not give any chance for us to explain futher and dint bother to check my Dr's report (showing the med issues I had)....to summarize it all, our renewal was refused on grounds that the visa B1/B2 was used for a wrong purpose and she asked us to go apply again as freshers....my question is "what are our chances of getting the visas again?

Hi, at the port of entry, we're you asked what your reason for coming to the U.S was? What did you tell the CPB officer?

Hello,
Silent reader of the forum here. And you have been of great help for me in this journey .
Looking to get back home to give a detailed synopsis of this experience.HOWEVER,Please I need the urgent assistance of anyone who recently had a baby at HNWMC.
The paediatrician bill I just received is $3,800!

The breakdown sheet I was given at registration was not even up to$1000,but I still budgeted $1000. I also declined the hearing test.

Please can someone help me to explain or direct me to who to talk to about reducing the estimate.

Please help!I am due to leave this country by Sunday

Awwww. Sorry about the last denial.

Why western union? Can't they pay to a US bank.account while you arrange to get the cash from the account owner?

Exacty! This sounds easier and more straightforward. This was what I did when I couldn't make it to Elpaso in 2015. They deducted some money I think 150 dollars then for bank charges and I got my money in less than 24hrs.

In my opinion their policy is clear enough, don't fly after 35 weeks. Maybe your wife should travel before 35weeks to be on the safe side.
