Niger Deltan Stereotypes Nigerians Are Tired Of Hearing by Drienzia: 9:27am On Jan 26, 2017 |
There are a handful of stereotypes that Africans hold against each other and this is not surprising due to the multi-cultural structure of our society. Nigeria has over 500 ethnic groups. Among the 500, Niger Deltans Are Lazy Being lazy can't be accredited to just a region because some group of persons chose to be lazy. People from the Niger Deltans Are mostly fishermen and are into subsistence farming. Niger Deltans ain't lazy. As a matter of fact, I have Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa friends that er lazy, but wouldn't be wise using it to judge the whole region. Niger Deltans Are Drunkards This one is very annoying. Saying it like, they wake up and go drink to stupor, then return home at night. that's a blatant lie. Statistics shows, more bottles of alcohols are consumed most in the northern part of the country, so why credit it to us Niger Deltans Are Polygamous In Nature Polygamy is all over Africa. its an Africa thing. Even men yorubas,Hausa's and Igbos, still run a polygamous family. not to talk of the northern Amaragies and Sultans getting married everyday to both young and old. Abeg park well.. An Average Niger Deltan Is A Cultist It's better we stop this statement now. it's becoming annoying. Being a cultist is a self discission. And not a thing to do with a region. we have cultists all over the country, And not just in my beloved Niger Delta.. They Support Corrupt Politicians Na wa o. Supporting a corrupt politician is a personal thing. I have People from my region who are very upright and just. furthermore, Some south westerners supports Tinubu, Saraki and co..Not to talk of my brothers up north supporting Dasuki and my Igbo neighbors supporting Rochas Okorocha... But OP... Niger Deltans rioted and protested the ban of Ogogoro sales and production... how is labeling them drunkards wrong...?!!! On tv... one guy boldly said it's a symbol of the South South... during the street interview... some claims to have been drinking it and still fit as a fiddle even at 70... 1 Like |

iPopAlomo:The traders were the ones that protested, because selling local gin was their source of livelihood. Even at that, it doesn't justify ur claim... |
