Have you received anything from this your friend before? If yes how tangible was it?. If you are using DHL, their charge covers everything up to last mile delivery(DHL do carry something that contains Lithium ion battery). But if you have to use other courier service that will require you to pay for custom clearance or what ever fee, this parcel should be around in your State then you will get a phone call to pick it up. When I had the same experience last year April I paid 1k for goods of about 100usd. Note: if you are notified that your parcel has arrived any other city apart from Lagos and the city nearest to you, that you should pay some money for clearance and delivery, then you should be cautious. cupid007:try moving your funds to your personal account and the account opening should fly. even if you own a company the perception is that it's finances should be independent of you the owner. |

Successful111:DHL is german post service just as Nipost is Nigerian post service. When it gets to DHL Nigeria, customs check it and transfer it to your nearest postoffice where you will go to get it. They will not deliver it to your address instead call you to come pay and pick it up. |

Galads: Thank you very much @ galad... it was useful.. ...but what about the issue of the phone?? If he opens the phone & removes the battery, that means he will send just the phone without battery...will DHL reject?? Because they don't allow sending of device with lithium battery again,,,and do you know if other courier services will allow sending such phone?? God bless you bro |

@prizzy2 thanks a lot you guys are doing a nice work here I most confess.. I have not received anything from him before..and he wants to send it through DHL on Monday morning..but he said he had read online from the site DHL customer care gave him when he went for enquires last week in Germany, that when my package gets to me here in Nig,i will pay some custom fee,but they did not specify how much I will pay her, that's why am scared because I know what Nigeria customs can do..but it is just An Acer laptop and an Android phone that has been used by him,,but as for the phone he is not certain if to send it,,becuase the last time he tried after paying they returned it back to him because it was having an in built Lithium ion battery..now since he wants to send me this laptop,,i thought maybe if we remove the battery from the phone we can pass it through to Nigeria... prizzy2: |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Galads(m): 7:32pm On Jan 28, 2017 |
Successful111:First an foremost, DHL do not open your packet when you go to send. Scanning machine does all the work. So if it is only the battery that is the problem then if removed, it can pass through the scanner. 1 Like |

Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by honourableseyi: 4:55pm On Jan 29, 2017 |
SooCute: Don't waste your money by applying to any school under uni-assist with ND. You can try it if the school application is not under uni-assist . Even with this, it is 1%-5% success rate depending on the course. Also, check www.anabin.org if the name of your school is there. Finally, it doesn't matter if it is NECO, WAEC or NATBEB; at a sitting or 2 sittings. Germany don't discriminate any of Nigeria's O'level result. Shalom |

coldasice007: Oh oh...I have block account appointment tommorow and I am presenting an account statement from my brother in-law who is providing the funds. Thing is there is constant inflow and outflow of cash from the account and the one-month statement has over 40mil credit and about the same amount debit. The balance as at when printed is 500k or so. I'm hoping that's not gonna be a problem |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by honourableseyi: 6:55pm On Jan 29, 2017 |
iamedwin: If the balance inside the account is 500k presently,I would advised you not to go with the statement; hence you might spent 20k twice. The balance should be #3.8m and above or preferably #4m and above irrespective of the inflow and outflow. Wait till you get the right statement of account and ask someone that has done it before to help you vet the form before your final decision on the opening of the account. DB account opening could be frustrating if you don't have the right documents or fill it the way they want. Shalom 1 Like |
