Hi Boss,

Are you installing Granite Countertop in the Garagehouse? if so, please send me the contact for the supplier. I was told there is a good reputable Marble company in Ibadan, which has been in the business forever and good too. But I do not remember the name at this time. Enjoy you Adventure.

Is the Igbetti marble still in existence after the death of Chief Ashamu?

Hajj, not partucularly sure. I was speaking with one of the guys who live in Ibadan and who worked in marble. He said now the chinese are muscling in powerfully and because they are smaller units and have more modern equipments; it would not be profitable for anyone to run Chief Ashamu's marble operations.

I apologise already for the little prose that would follow this:

Hajj, Egun, Spyder, lastpage, erico2k2,fast shipping, Chux,Maverick, abike and others. I have an idea. I might probably be naive, but it is borne out of a call from home today. I have leftover PVC roofing slats from my current build. I had it kept away thinking I would use it when I build again. But I got told today that if left on ground they will go bad. That then got me thinking: that why don't people barter- give people what you have an excess of and get what they have an excess of too?

I know this is a faceless page and people can claim to be anybody, but people can still be verified, claims can still be vetted.I would not mind to share my image or contact numbers with some people here.I have viewed anonymously for so long that I know who I can deal with now on this page. Please see attached PVC as used in my build and the receipt my folks got when it was bought. I would not sell it, I would rather barter it. I know the logistic of that might be difficult, but when there is a will.... and every little help.

Disclaimer: I am not on this page to sell, take money from anyone or give money to anyone. I am a man in his 40s who has gained a lot from this page .I started following builds on nairaland since a guy called "Am alone" build a bungalow way back.I just thought I should be unlike my friends who just take from this thread without putting anything back,I though rather than be a leech, I too should use the account I had registered since 2015 and contribute when something I know a bit about is discussed. So, if someone who has a build wants this, then I am game, or I might have my mom sort it out too.

I hope people will give some thought to this:Why dont bartering take place on this page? I would not mind if it is shot down, we are all learning.

PS: I have 4 bundles. 1 bundle has 10 pieces.

Apologies for the long writing again.[img][/img]

I'm glad you finally found something of equal quality in our local Ibadan for that matter. It's less stressfull and a lot cheaper, compared to shopping, shipping & clearing from yonder.Mind you, I understand that we are all used to the standard here and don't want to settle for less, but Nigerian traders & artisans too are upgrading to our demands for quality products knowing fully well that we "diasporeans " form a sizeable percentage of their clientele.
Goodluck as you continue with your adventure in Iwo Rd.You will be pleasantly surprised at what you will find in the treasure hunt.

I don't think those PVC will get spoiled that quickly if they are good quality and laid flat and the environment is not hot.
But anyway... it will be good to state your location so that those in that area can take advantage of this good offer.

Hmmmm.... it was the carpenter who fixed it last year who said that.I would investiagte if he said so because he wants to be given it. It is laid flat on the floor in the garage; Laid one on top of the other. The garage has no window. It gets hot during the way. Thanks Hajj
Update: It is in Akobo. Akobo is to the north of Ibadan.

Get it away from hot environment, so it does not wobble and you are good for some years with it. The way you laid them is right.
If the carpenter was right, how come it never get spoiled for many years on the ceiling? The problem with not so good quality PVC is heat that wobbles and bent them after some years of use. But good quality ones will stay very long. I used Amoula Paragon in one of my build BQ too.

Not most of the time you have these quality stuff available to buy there. For example, it's very difficult to buy quality tiles in Nigeria without being scammed. These criminals have device way of cheating buyers. I once sent people to market to sort out quality tiles for me and they found tiles with names at the back of some tiles while some tiles in same box with no name printed on them. Some boxes have 3, 4, 5 tiles in them, whereas the box shows Qty. 5. That's why some of us so adamant about shipping things. When you're so concerned about quality and you see these dubious way of doing things, one has to just say fvck it!

In another news, why is it so difficult to find quality contemporary furniture in Nigeria? People keep saying dem plenty for naija but no one has been able to show me any quality furniture. They ask us to buy naija to grow naija but is Nigerian market offering us quality products? It is very convenient to buy from Nigeria but sometimes we have to substitute convenience for quality from abroad.

I'm looking for affordable furniture in Nigeria like the ones below. Bedmate and others are just not up to it.

Thanks Hajj. I know you used amoula. I read about it then. I am not sure if mine are amoula, I will ask my brother.
I would take your advice and keep them. Thanks for the advice on a topic people seem quite wary to touch.I understand that people have been duped left and right on this page.I can understand the timidity.

I was already thinking of preserving it for further use as I have been advised, as it makes sense.

Nevertheless, I would barter if you have something in exchange that I would also need.

I am not home presently, but can sort something out if I have to.

Of course you have quality tiles in Nigeria too but don't say such thing as mixing fake tiles and original tiles in the carton doesn't exist. I didn't want to take that risk so I had to butt out. I sent four different people to tiles market last year and two confirmed this to me.

You are correct dubious people ready to go extra length to cheat client or customers, so there are many ways to do these. But some customer also want Italian tiles at the same rate with Nigeria or low China tiles

So they should be told no and referred to another store.

But honest sellers shouldn't cheat and defraud ANY clients under any condition.

For reference the bath vanity is N105,000, complete with faucet and drains.

They have many others, some of which will fit right in the gaudy decor of a coccaine dealers house or a whorehouse grin

They have jacuzzi tubs too. I was shown one for N500k which made my driver gasp that it's the same cost as his Micra (Ibadan things). "Olowo lomakure" he said cheesy
