Henry240: The poster says "Armscor bankrupted SA in the 1980s".... But you somewhat bended the statement to suit your narrative. Armscor was healthy rich during those times with billions to spend on secret projects like the Rooivalk, Orxy, intercontinental missile, nuclear warheads and Project Cava. 1 Like |

GreenandGold: The company did not go bankrupt, it rather bankrupted the nation of South Africa. Yes, so, so much better. Wise guy. Armscor bankrupted SA and the Cameron commission of inquiry found it to be incredibly corrupt and incredibly incompetent. Are you happy now? 3 Likes

Henry240: What does happiness have anything to do with this? You made a statement from thin air, you tried to bend a comment as your source which turned out to be false. This simply proves that most your posts are bogus as the person you're trying to disqualify... End of story 1 Like |

now that Jammeh is gone, what do you think is in store for the other long serving leaders of Africa? Will the AU now have the gut to do the same in say, Zimbabwe, Angola, Rwanda, and Uganda? |

Please who can help me answer this question? Why did the Nigerian armed forces abandon the British style dress uniforms in favour of ones of their own design. Countries like kenya, Ghana, South Africa never abandoned the design |

onumaegbuikenna: What British design are u talking about. Como pattern or how it is sowed. Kenya still use the British style pattern but it is a little different. Saying something like that hit a nerve but it is also good, it calls for self assessment.

frumentius: Frumentius, I was right all along. The ECOWAS intervention in Gambia was illegal. For days, I asked you and the other proponents who supported the invasion of Gambia to provide the legal proof which backs such an intervention, of course you guys could not and some others resorted to name calling. Here is the evidence which supports my opinion. ECOWAS used Article 58 of its revised treaty relating to regional security to justify the intervention, according to Nigerian legal expert Barrister Hassan Liman. Liman said the law stipulates that member states must work to safeguard and consolidate relations to maintain peace, stability and security within the region. He added that the article does not give ECOWAS the right to use force to oust a leader. http://www.voanews.com/a/can-ecowas-tactics-in-gambia-serve-as-model/3698488.html?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter 1 Like |

GreenandGold: Nigerian leaders don't cling onto power. Our Judicial institutions are mature enough to evict leaders from office. Nigeria is not an example to use. The last time we had a dictator was almost 20 years ago. So how's that a possibility in Nigeria? 2 Likes |

Henry240: Dictatorship occurs anywhere, it's even likely to happen in South Africa with more stable years (and stronger institutions). So don't dodge the question, would ECOWAS troops enter Nigeria to setup another example in a scenario dictatorship occurred? |

GreenandGold: ECOWAS or even AU will never put boots in Nigeria. I keep repeating myself that Nigerians have gone through worse, and nothing happened not to talk of now that we are more civilized. Democracy is here to stay despite our diversity. Court have removed many governors from office without any issues. 3 Likes |

GreenandGold: Nigerian institutions would not allow a Jammeh type scenario here. Anyway for scenario sake........ Nigeria is an African leader, where is such an invasion going to even begin from. "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others ". Apart from the Insurgency in Nigeria, Nigerian Security forces are currently deployed in Liberia, Sudan, SLR, Mali, Guinea, Benin Republic, Somalia, Sao-Tome and Principe, and now 1500 troops in Gambia. 9 countries in all. Those forces would be destroyed in their countries even before they get on the buses that would take them to the airports that would fly them. There would be enough gunboat diplomacy for any of the countries planning to contribute to the force. Nigerian ISR would follow their Presidents, while Satellites imagery would keep tabs on troop movement. Nigerian commandos would be on standby to Kidnap thier Presidents and military chiefs. It is simply not possible. The countries would be screwed even before they mobilize. The Nigerian military is nearly 3 times the other West-African armies put together. 4 Likes

GreenandGold:You seem obsessed with two ideas and no one is dodging the question IDEA NO.1. Nigeria as a Country with Buhari clinging to power is absurd, Nigeria as as a democratic country continues to mature and her history has shown anyone who has tried to truncate has been left by the wayside and in short has strengthened it's democracy.President Obasanjo was soundly defeated nationwide when he tried his tenure elongation ( it is enshrined in the constitution) .GEJ lost the election and with an eye on his legacy and knowing what the Nigerian people wanted in an unprecedented acknowledgement CALLED to congratulated PMB before two remaining states were counted and BARRED his PARTY from contesting the results. IDEA NO.2 The elections will come and go in 2019 and if Buhari loses he will concede just like GEJ and if he wins he got 4 more years . So please stop clinging to this fantasy about some ECOWAS INTERVENTION FORCE in Nigeria. Nigeria takes the lead in ECOWAS deal with it or go hug a transformer, Neither can South Africa turn into a Military dictatorship their institutions despite it's flaws it has strong democratic institutions and it's people are fiercely independent. ANC lost Cape Town recently as an example. Lastly PMB led the delegation to ousts / persuade JAMMEH diplomatically why would he then turn around and stay when his tenure is up? 3 Likes |

Henry240: There are so many ignorant people in defence still praising GEJ. The noise people are making is just to prevent a future re occurrence. Nigeria is not a toy for some ill prepared, confused kleptomaniac to be playing games. We are also watching this Government especially in defence and security. So far they are scoring B- but there is room for improvement. We should not have wasted so much time pursuing Super Tucano. That and not keeping up the pressure on Boko for two weeks are the only reasons they don't have an A 1 Like |
