nefertitiram:. The first time I applied in 2014 was for conference and I couldn't make the conference due to preggy issue, I was been sponsored by my place of work and wasn't asked if I was preggy or if I will seek medical assistance as my preggy was at d early stage. I used dat visa for childbirth Afta sending change of intent letter.to ur second question I applied in December 2016 for a renewal via Dropbox to go for Xmas and it was tourist visa I applied for as I was goin to use it for holiday in December, bt I didn't get a follow up interview till 4th of January after d planned holiday day has passed. I was asked by the VO my purpose of visit and told her it was suppose to be for the Xmas holiday, then she asked if I was preggy and I told her yes and she also asked about my husband and why he want travelling wit us which I answered was cos of his job and I was denied and asked to apply afresh. Dat was why I applied wit my husband , my son and myself the second time time but we were also denied after been asked where we work. To your 3rd question not sure if I lied I came across to d VO like I lied.(may be my renewal I shud hve apply straight for medicals but since I was goin to use it for tourism purpose in December dats why I didn't ) and to your last question I paid all my bills from the last time and I have my zero balance. Sorry for the long post just wanted to explain it well so I can get genuine and sincere suggestions if I should go back to Abuja after two denials dere or if I shud try Lagos. Thank u so much all |

Hmmmn. This is what being in a country that isn't moving forward actually causes. We are all in a bid to better our lives one way or the other and admittedly pple do alot of things to achieve this aim. It is quite easy to challenge pple on the forum when you are not in their situation back home and know what they go thru. Nigerians using prayers and fasting is a norm because that's how we are raised and we can get easily defensive when we feel attacked about it. Lets just leave it as it is cos all of us get something for our closet that we don't reveal and America is no ones native land. LONGLIVE NAIRALAND!!!! 1 Like |

[quote author=MamaE3 post=53339592]. Hello Madam, The first time you applied in 2014 for a conference and you didn't use the visa for the purpose for which you got it rather you used it for childbirth. Assuming you went for the conference and then went for childbirth afterwards it would have been a different thing. Secondly you applied in December 2016 for a renewal via Dropbox for a tourist visa and you were pregnant. If you had stated medical and you were issued the visa, it wouldn't stop you from going for your Christmas visit. Sincerely the VO just felt you lied and intentionally collected the visa for another purpose and used it for another. Hence the reason the denial of your husband and son. Madam just forget reapplying for now because it will be a case of desperation. I just feel we are getting this thing wrong. Some people will apply and say they just discovered a week after making the application. Then use it for the purpose it was given. Others will say I was not asked when they know their intention for collection. Why don't you tell the VO if you were not asked. We complicate issues for others and make everyone a potential suspect when applying hence the high rate of denial these days. Please let's just stop the issue of this letter of intent. Let's just do the right thing. If am a VO I will be so angry when I see issues like this. It makes them feel as if we think they are not smart. 3 Likes 1 Share |

MamaE3: The bolder is the problem, which is what I had already assumed. I had posted twice about this, if you had a baby on a previous tourist visa just book an interview if you want to renew especially for childbirth. Take previous receipts and new medical documents to avoid this kind of issue. Alternatively visit US many times before expiration to prove you are an actual tourist. 1. You were pregnant when you got the visa so they assumed you hid the pregnancy, lied about going for a conference which you never went for and ended up having a baby within 9 months, even with the so called change of intent letter. 2. Now you want to renew, you still applied for a tourist visa, while pregnant again. A lot of people are able to get away with doing this doesn't mean it is right, unfortunately a few people get caught in the mesh, as we can see in your case. If you ask me, don't reapply anytime soon. It will be unfair of me to say have your baby here, but, I don't know, you can try your luck in Lagos once more and try to admit to your mistakes. I can understand it was done out of ignorance |

Hello everyone, please I need a little clarification here. I have this sister, She has a valid visa, she got it last year when she was pregnant and going for a medical test/treatment, unfortunately she lost the pregnancy like few months here in Nigeria before she traveled. She ended up traveling to us just for a change of environment, used like a month and returned. Now she's pregnant again but this time around, her husband wants to apply for visa so as to accompany her for the test(which is already paid for). I hope her husband will be granted d visa and her own visa won't be revoked. Because she's still here and her husband is going for interview like next week or so. Please advice. What can dey do |

[quote author=muyiwaojo1 post=53344256]Hello everyone, please I need a little clarification here. I have this sister, She has a valid visa, she got it last year when Hi, what type of visa did she apply for medical or tourist? If its medical and she went with her documents before she was issued the visa, and has also travelled with it. I don't think there should be a problem except it was a tourist visa she applied for. This said, her husband may be granted the visa and her visa not revoked. We don't know the VOs mind but most advice given here is based on the basic requirements and peoples experiences so far. 1 Like |

Good morning people. I am new on this tread and I have a quick question. Is there any restriction or minimum age for a baby to get on an airline? Can one travel with a baby of less than a month old? Thanks for your anticipated response. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by Chanbaby: 10:22am On Feb 02, 2017 |
olajay5: Yes, Less than a month but more than 2weeks old. You can also check ur airline policy as regards that. 1 Like |

ada87: Your request is not very coherent. Either way you should have calculated the cost of porting to Houston vs the price of rerouting the ticket. If the cost is too much, take a local flight from Houston to JFK and use your current ticket. from JFK to Lagos. 2 Likes |

As a general note, I would advise everyone that cares to listen to be on their best behavior. http://www.denverpost.com/2017/01/31/trump-administration-draft-immigration-restrictions-protecting-us-jobs/ In case it't too long for you to read, see excerpt below: It also instructs DHS and the State Department to submit a report on “the steps they are taking to combat the birth tourism phenomenon,” meaning instances in which noncitizens come to the United States to have children, who in turn gain citizenship, a popular conservative refrain but one that is dismissed by immigration experts as a relatively minor problem While we say that the birthright citizenship law cannot be readily changed, the US can (and has done in recent past) bar people from entering their country at will. I hate to be a prophet of doom but this is our new reality. What we have previously called "over zealousness" in a POE officer may just be someone doing his job under the rules and terms of the new administration. Let us just do the right thing, and then pray and fast after. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Most airlines will advice you not to travel with a baby of less than a week. However baby should be ok before you travel and be sure to check with your airline for the most up to date policy regarding this situation. olajay5: |
