Nigeria: between the righteous Elites and the filthy celebrities When Legendary Nigerian pop singer 2face Idibia announced on social media that he's joining and leading the proposed #NIGERIAFIRST protest scheduled for Saturday 6th February, it was treated with mixed reactions. Whereas some criticized and labeled him an opportunist and puppet paid by the opposition, others applauded him as a hero and true champion of the people who despite his celebrity and obviously comfortable social status is willing to press on for social justice. One class however, that went far off the edge is the so-called elites- the political and academic class. A notable University Don dismissed Mr. Idibia as an illiterate and morally unfit to lead any protest. The politicians had their own share of name calling. The elites, represented by the Professor, Lai Moh'd and Mr. Femi Adesina, have shown themselves, through their public comments to be reactionary determined to bring him down and the spirit behind his courageous move. Morality? Does the hard-biting hunger ravaging the country differentiate between the moral and immoral? Does the astronomical increase in the prices of commodities know any difference regarding morality? What has questioning the increasing rate of unemployment got to do with 2face's personal life? What in God's name is wrong with protesting against the failures and shortcomings of the Federal Government? It is sad to realize that the righteous politicians and their academic counterparts who are without sin haven't done anything to speak for the masses. It is laughable that Mr. Adesina will go on national media to say that those behind the proposed protest are those still pained by PDP's lost in the last general elections. Such a shame From whatever angle you see it, the truth remains that the very filthy celebrities, as labeled by the elites, are the true heroes of the masses far more honourable than the elites who are in reality no more honourable than a gang of masked gunmen in a bank. What 2face and his cohort, supported by every right thinking Nigerian, is simple: better, responsible and accountable governance. http://www.sambisareports.com/2017/02/feature-nigeria-between-righteous.html?m=1 4 Likes 4 Shares |

2face said, since 1999 nigeria govt hav been falling d citizen.dat was a very good point, but d question is y has it took 2face so lng since 1999 to organize a rally lik dis until now.I support d rally because things are nt well in nigeria and its most our govt sde of things.bsde,d rally is a peaceful rally and is nt lik a rally calling for any govt officials to stepdown or watever.so watever anyone from any party says or said is just politics and any political party in power will do or say d same.Ride on 2BABA |
