Good afternoon everyone, I am a 1st timer to this forum. I must say I have had my eyes full with so much information here. You guys rock. Please before I come back with my other questions, I want to be sure that I can use my B1/B2 visa for birthing later this year. I got my visit visa in October last year with my little son, we used it for vacation in November without hubby. I wasn't pregnant at the time. Please help me, because I keep seeing B2 visa alone coming up here. Also do I need to contact the embassy to tell them I am now going for childbirth since the visa was issued on tourism grounds. I keep seeing different opinions on this. Thank you. |

mimimum: You should be fine. I got a B1/B2 to attend a conference in September 2015. I went for the conference and came back, got pregnant in 2016 and used it for birthing. I did write a notification of intent but I don't think it is absolutely necessary especially as you've used the visa for its intended purpose. 1 Like |

Good day my people. Biko, I would really appreciate if I can get responses to my concerns. Have been in and out the US for a while but first time of hoping to have a baby (ies) there. Pls MUST I pay the hospital bills from Naija first before travelling? If I have enough cash and reasonable amount in card, would I be turned back at POE. Then, I am expecting twins, pls is there any airline that can just carry me with two babies for my return? Pls help a desperate pregalnant woman o. Biko |

Mrsbaby: No it's not compulsory to pay your bills before you leave naija. If most of your money is in card, carry with you a print out of your account. I don't know about an airline carrying a single mama with 2 LO's o,i don't think it's possible. |

Hi. It's just the first week u pay $267 (inclusive of $50 which is refundable at the end of ur stay), subsequent weeks u pay $217 per week, and on the 31st day, u start paying $185 per week because they'll return $31.50 tax for the first 30 days you've stayed. That's $31.50 × 5 weeks = $157.50. So in short, if u stay more than 5 weeks, ur average weekly rate is actually $185 NOT $267 or $217 or $270. And they refund u d $50 u pay when u check in initially. I hope u get it. Cheers. 1 Like 1 Share |

Hello All, have been a silent member of this forum but I know it was God and the information I learnt from this wonderful group that made me prepare well. To my P.O.E experience: I travelled on the 29th of January via turkish airline at 33weeks 5days to IAD Washington. The trip was a long one with my 2+ son acting all spoilt saying Mummy carry through out the flight duration but was okay. Got to Washington around 7pm and the airport was scanty. I was able to jump the line because of my condition. CBP: What are you here for Me: Child birth CBP: Do you have a Hospital and a doctor Me: Yes and I showed him my doctors correspondence and my hospital receipt since I already made payment while in naija CBP: How did you make your payment Me: Online CBP: Where do I work Me: blah blah CBP: When was the last time you visited the U.S Me: 2015 CBP: Do I have a relative here Me: Yes, my sis CBP: pls put your fingers on the scanner And when I was through he told me to go. I didnt bother checking my passport not until I took my son to the convenience and I realised we both weren't stamped in, didn't want to go back to him before I hear stories that touch the heart I eventually pickled out luggages from the carousel And as we were about exiting I met another set of CBP, who directed Na to a room. At first I thought I was goin to Agric. I Was there more than an hour until my name was called. 2nd CBP : You're here for child birth Me: Yes CBP: Do you have a doctor and hospital Me: Told him what I told the 1st CBP Basically all the questions were apart from when he said I can see you notify the embassy about your change of intent, that's a good one. Can I see the emails. I showed him the hardcopy of the email I sent and the response from the embassy. And he said just make sure you pay your other bills and you have your zero balance receipts before you leave. Have a safe delivery and welcome to America. So please and please whether the change of intent has been bastardize or not try and have a copy. It's better to have it when asked than to regret not having it. Thank you nairaland and God bless every contributor.Even though am in the usa now I Still dont miss reading the forum. 21 Likes |

Congrats on the twins...but as regards ur travelling with twins..it's almost humanly impossible for u alone to cope with them while flying. You need an adult to help. Either u have someone go with u or join u there. If not how will u cope taking care of urself and 2 Babies!! And if you're having a CS that's a different case entirely. Pls plan well o. It won't be good for u to come and suffer in the US o. As per flying.. some people just risk it and beg any approachable looking Lady and beg to help with one baby which is kinda somehow, or you'll just have to buy a child's ticket for one of the babies so u can put one of them in a car seat on the child's seat u paid for, while u carry the other baby, or if ure lucky, u could get a bassinet on the flight. One advice is that u shouldn't break ur flights oo..I Mean fly straight, don't do international leg separate from local.. imagine if u have to collect ur luggage at one airport and check in again with 2 babies!!..na die be that oo. Think about ur options and weight them well and I wish u all the best. Cheers. Mrsbaby: 3 Likes |

sigh of relief (abit) cos there has been stories going round about POE issues concerning nigerians (dont know how true they arre) who were turned back home after rigorous screening. Sophiamax16: Possibly,if she got Qatar visa to use Qatar hotel on stopover. I just think all these are propaganda. Trump is a great guy. They should just let him work. Were yhey all sleeping during the elections? Aren't these his campaign policies? So what's all the hullabaloo sef. Americans wanted him. Now they have him. 3 Likes |

nefertitiram:Nope. We don't want and we didn't vote for him. He actually lost the popular vote and is sitting in the White House due to the intricacies of the electoral college system and Russia (maybe) It's all propaganda until someone or a loved one is affected. It's visa holders and Muslims now, next it might be anchor babies, green card holders and even Africans. #JustSaying 6 Likes |

nefertitiram: Exactly. He's doing everything he promised to do during his campaign. Might not all be propaganda, but it's definitely gonna get worst. There would definitely be rumours but with some elements of truth. We just all need to b more careful and cautious of how we change plans on this journey. Scary and shocking as it may be, it's d reality we're facing. May God make it easy. 3 Likes |
