Hello house good evening. Please I need help on this. My volvo v40 stalls while driving. Sometime the stalling gets so bad that the engine refuses to fire at all. I also noticed that if I turn off the engine and turn it on it responds ok for some time. I did a scan and couldnt find any error code but noticed my fuel trim increased during a stall with the short term getting as high as 36 with long term presently at 15. Any idea what could be the problem. |

is your fuel pump ok? by the way if your car is not between 1965-1991 I am not going to be of assistance... |

ruke84: your car is running lean seriously.... a scanner can't reveal that... a vacuum leak or compression leak test should be carried out... also your O2 sensors maybe malfunctioning... and a host of other issues that is causing too much air to enter your intake manifold or some other issue that might be fooling your ECU you need an expert in diagnostics to carry out these operations for your car... |

Large vacuum leak, faulty MAF, faulty Oxygen or A/F sensor(s), weak fuel pump or clogged fuel filter, faulty injector, faulty fuel pressure regulator, leaking cylinder head gasket, cylinder compression leakage, clogged CAT and so on.... |

Problem partly fixed. Fuel stainer on the pump was blocked. Long term fuel trim is still around 10. I am considering cleaning the injectors. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks |
