Kog45: Very insightful write up. I think Aguero is still on the squad because of his heavy tag. He is the third highest goal scorer in the history of Manchester City. One of the best strikers in the history of the EPL. I think Guardiola made his mind on Gabriel Jesus a long time. Remember, before the big Gabriel Jesus buzz, Guardiola snapped him. Called him to join City even before the Olympics. I think another problem that affected Iheanacho was Sane's growth. I think planned to Play Jesus on the left, Sterling right and Aguero forward. With Sane being in good form, it was time to drop Aguero. I think now we can understand what the meeting was for. Aguero is going. No one enjoys sitting on the bench. However, we can not deny the impact these trainings is having on the player. Caballero's footwork is a testament. I am after improvement in quality. Nacho doing these drills and maintaining a healthy lifestyle will improve him fast. The thought of Iheanacho leaving these, gives me chills because I do not know if he can maintain it without Guardiola's guidance. I still support Nacho leaves because it is time he starts proving himself regularly on the big stage. I hope he maintains his lessons from Guardiola. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe: I'm not happy about it too but I had to admit the truth. I'm not a fan of the goal poacher kind of striker too which typifies Iheanacho, if they're not scoring then you will be angry why they're on the pitch at all |

komekn: You should also consider Rohr's time in the youth system of Germany. Maybe he has a better network to study the German talents and get detailed report on them compared to England. 1 Like |

Xzbit91: Iheanacho does more than goal poaching but majority of his attacking instincts lies in attacking the box. He does most of what Gabriel Jesus brings, like tracking back, dropping deep and making busting runs from the midfield to the box. What separates Gabriel Jesus is that he does this a lot. I pointed it out to some friends today. Gabriel Jesus is almost like a ten most of the game. What gives me hope is that Nacho can actually play that role which he does when he plays as a second striker. I believe as a smart young man, he will pick up. If Nacho adds more fluidity, work rate and stamina to his game, he will become lethal. The highlight of Gabriel Jesus game today was when he called on his team-mates to keep up with his pressing. Reminded me of when Iheanacho did the same against Algeria. 1 Like |

From the look of things, Aguero is leaving Manchester City. If Guardiola does not buy a high profile striker to fit that role, do you think Iheanacho should still leave Manchester City? Consider he still has a lot to learn. cc: Icon4s, Kog45, TheSuperNerd, safarigirl, Joseph1013, lakesidepapa, goldfish80, Xzbit91, BascoVanVeli, terzurum5 |

TheGoodJoe: Iheanacho should go on loan to a smaller club in the premier league for either a season or two where he is sure of playing football regularly and not just sitting on the bench or not appearing on match day squad after long hours of training. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 8:34pm On Feb 05, 2017 |
cc12: Consider Aguero leaving. It means he will get playing time. That is where my confusion is. Unless we secure a high profile hitman, I see Nacho breaking into the side, along side Sane and Gabriel Jesus. I see Sterling falling off. He was still not convincing today. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Xzbit91: 8:35pm On Feb 05, 2017 |
TheGoodJoe: I don't think so, I actually suggested that if Iheanacho improves enough, city might be willing to let go of an ageing, injury prone aguero than letting go of the first graduate of their youth project with enough potential to be a world beater. I was even secretly hoping the stereotype that Brazilians don't farewell in epl to be true so our boy gets his chance |

TheGoodJoe: He won't still get much playing time because G.Jesus would still start ahead of him and the likes of Nolito and KDB are still around to fill the striking position. Iheanacho needs steady gametime. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 8:45pm On Feb 05, 2017 |
cc12: Nolito will definitely leave too. He is not young and lots of Spanish coaches feel he is quality. I think I agree with you concerning regular playing time. After this year, I think Iheanacho needs a platform to show how good he is. It is a tough one when you consider how good City plays. The quality of young talents in the team and the proposed stars joining the team. City will soon have one of the best squads in Europe. I am not sure if leaving that environment is the best for Nacho. But, your regular playing time makes a lot of sense. |

I want to make a list of players fighting for a position from the goalkeeper to the striker in the National team. I want us to arrange them based on your own rating. I start will from the Left Wing. LEFT WING Victor Moses - Chelsea; Arguably, the best player for this position. With his tricks, he can unlock any defense in the world. In short, he is the most skilful player in the National team. He is the number one on my list. He can also play as a RM. - Now, who can deputize for him in case of the unexpected? Now, let us choose between Moses Simon and Ademola-lookman though we have other players contending for this position. Moses Simon - Gent; I don't really know what is happening to him recently but I think he is my second choice for now pending the guy behind him surpasses him. And who is that guy? Ademola-lookman - Everton; This is the new kid on the block making rave in the Premier League. This guy could go places at the rate he has risen from nowhere to becoming a full team player within three years. He's a good dribbler, he is skilful, he can score goals and he can give an accurate long pass. I rate him highly than Moses Simon. We also have Sheyi Ojo who plays for Liverpool. RIGHT WING Ahmed Musa - Lec city; He is not my preferred choice but he's of course the number one on my list based on experience and other factors. I think he is best used as a Left Winger or striker. Who do you think is best to stand for him incase...? I think Isaac Success of Watford is the answer and my preferred choice. He's a reminiscent of Victor Moses. He is very skillful and direct but he has lost his goal sense based on what I saw. Imagine, Victor Moses on the Left Wing with Success on the right wing, any team go fear fear na. The next person is Sone Aluko of Fulham. I think he is most skilful not in the National team. He can play as a second striker and as an attacking midfielder. Imoh Ezekiel could have been on the list but where em dey get as em be. We have Noel Joel Sarenren Bazee also contending for this position. Center Forward This one I know know who I go put as number one for this position before some people chew me raw. Seriously, we need a potent striker in the mould of Diago Costa of Chelsea. I don't want to think about Odion Ighalo because of em Chinko move. Therefore, I will go for Aaron Samuel of CSK Moscow. It is my choice. You can choose yours. The next will be Brown Ideye. We have Adi, Sadiq Umar, Dominic Solanke, Tammy Abraham, Henry Onyekuru, Kayode Olanrewaju and My front line up will be like this.. ....... Victor (Lw)........ Aaron (CF)........ Isaac(RW) ................................ Iheanacho(Ss)/Iwobi depending on the formation. Let me drop this one before moving to the midfield. If there is any player missing please endeavor to add to the list then choose ya first and second choice. |

tbaba1234: My problem with a loan is that Iheanacho will miss out on all the trainings to gel the team. It is either he stays or he leaves totally. I do not see a loan as an option because in one way or the other, it will slow him down. |
