Please anyone with information on how to get the Nigerian Visa should please share. I have been on the Nigeria embassy Atlanta page and I see conflicting information there. How do I go about it?

Avoid Washington DC and Atlanta. Those two places set their own rates n rules. New York consulate was what I used . Atlanta just started using a third party service provider (OIS) for $90 extra for visa applications.

1. If you reapply, the next V.O may assume you had always wanted to have your child in the US and you were not actually going for a vacation.

2. Wait for three months, before reapplying.

3. Apply after you have given birth in Nigeria, apply for vacation with him/her or go for medical visa direct.

4. Pick 2 or 3 ...I recommend 3, the child you have in Nigeria, would be your strong tie to Nigeria.

My opinion. All the best.

Thank you@KaptainAfrica ,can i email you plss very urgent!

Hi Houston Northwest medical mamas.

I Will be travelling on March 3. Anybody with cheap accomodation ready to share oo. Preferably any one close to HNMC to avoid excess cost of transportation.

Hello dear. Please, I have been a silent follower of this thread. My LO is due to arrive end of April and I have more than a few questions for you. I'll like to send you an email if that's okay?

Weigh your options, you re likely to have a weekly appointment with the doctor, depending on how many weeks you get into town. Other factors your consider is your shopping etc. My apartment was across Oakbend in Richmond and i was seeing Dr. Z in his clinic at Katy, like 30mins away weekly, but I wasn't paying for transportation cos it was part of my package. My apartment wasnt far to the malls i needed to go for baby things shopping and groceries, less than $10. Except u re a FTM, even at dat, u'll ve observed labour signs, we don't pray for emergency but if u re in naija, u'll sha still get someone ro drive you to the hosp and nt call ambulance.

@Debby516, Congrats on the LO; Please, am so very sorry to be a bother. I sent you an email. Hope that's okay? I am an April mum; travelling to Houston end of March, planning to use oakbend although am still flexible as I haven't been able to correspond with doctor and I have been in touch with oakbend, they require no financial commitment. I do have a few questions for you (on accommodation and reaching the doctor); kindly reply my email, Thanks a lot in anticipation.

To God be all the glory, we had my baby on the 23rd of December at Oakbend medical center with Dr E. The service was exceptional and nurses were very friendly.

We got all her documents ( birth certificate, blue passport, social securiy no and emergency travel certifcate) all in one week this January.

My host was very nice and sweet and was very helpful.

My profound gratitude goes to every kind contributor on this platform, the words of advice were invaluable.

May God bless us all.

Congratulations Urbanbeauty; Please, can i send you an email. Would like to have the details of your accommodation. Hope that's okay?

Hello,

In the spirit of giving back: I wrote to the Lagos embassy to notify them off my updated intention to give birth in the US (I had initially obtained the visa visa dropbox in August 2015 for a holiday. I did not go to the US but I went to another country for the holiday). Their response is below:

Thank you for your inquiry.

Please note that there is no legal requirement to inform us that you are seeking to give birth in the United States or that your purpose of travel has changed. The Customs and Border Protection, a branch of USCIS, determines a traveler’s eligibility of entry to the U.S, you should be prepared to demonstrate to the immigration officer at the port of entry why you are seeking medical treatment and that you have logistical and financial plans for the treatment. You should show the border protection agents upon arrival in the U.S. your detailed birth plan, which would include correspondence with your doctor, the cost of the delivery, any receipts showing prepayments for care and evidence that you have the ability to pay for all costs while in the U.S. up to and including your living expenses.

We recommend that you review the regulations on non-immigrant aliens entering the United States for purposes of childbirth at https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/882/~/visit-the-u.s.-while-pregnant-and-the-risks-involved and plan accordingly. Please you should not stay in the U.S. longer than you are permitted by Customs and Border Protection at the port of entry. The Department of Homeland Security at the port of entry will determine your eligibility to enter the United States on any travel.

If you choose to give birth in the U.S., we advise you to bring evidence of payment, both when you enter the U.S. on this visit, and at your future U.S. visa interviews.

Thank you for your response. Sorry but I have more questions....what did you submit as flight itinerary for the baby. I am yet to get her ticket. Was thinking of getting it at the airport on the day we depart.

I also saw allow for 1-2 days for receipt payment acknowledgement. Did you actually had to wait that long for the slip. I have just this week to get the visa. Travelling next week and I don't want stories that touches the heart.

Thank you as I await your response.

Hi dear,
Your post piqued my interest. I am really on a budget. I am interested in this South Virginia hospital. What are the associated costs of birthing there, nearby accomodation and doctor and hospital contacts. Help me with any reasonable info. Thank you.
enidot:
Issues! had a similar situation with SIL convinced DH totally about Medicaid even called and process it. One midnyt I just wake dh that I will never forgive him if the medicaid was issued as we have sufficient cash on us. DH called his colleagues back in his office to enquire and they told him all effect afterwards. Sharply he told his sis that we settle all bills. SIL then decided that we go to their public health and register, funny enuf Daville VA is a low cost living city where the cost of everything is almost 60-70 percent lower than normal. Some test are conducted free (the ones conducted ryt inside the hospital) while the rest are just too cheap below our estimated quote from Henrico dr hopital. The moment I told them I'm paying ryt away they give ridiculous discount sharp sharp and issue receipts on the spot. Anyone coming in to south Virginia shouldn't compromise just register straight with Daville Regional Medical Center. Good services at negotiable rates.
